Making a jig to use for my first attempt at chair woodworking and bought the rods and some bearing sleeves to for the jig. I have nearly completed the jig build and just need to do the fine turning. In some preliminary tests, the bearings and rods provided the controlled movement that will, hopefully, provide the accuracy that I need.
