Your cart is empty. This soil moisture sensor kit comes with the sensor and a receiver, and is universal enough to work with any irrigation controller. This model helps to prevent overwatering by continuously measuring the soil moisture levels and determining when to water.

I had doubts. But this showed that I was significantly over watering my lawn. It is easy to install on newer timers but mine needed two soldered connections to get power. That is no big deal if you can do it. The cost was reduced significantly with a water saving rebate from the water district.IMPORTANT UPDATE - DOWNGRADE TO ONE STAR: I have been trying to keep this working for two years now. Toro tried to be great and even sent me a replacement. However, I cannot rely on this to work. First issue it decided to water every day while I was away on vacation leaving me a very wet lawn upon return. Then it would not calibrate reliably. I then put the both units in the ground and monitored them for over a year. The results were not good. They reported wildly different moisture levels. Finally, one died and refused to calibrate at all. The second one worked well for about one month. Today its calibration failed. Instead of rising back to the normal watered level, it is reporting the level at the start of the water cycle. The bottom line to me is that these are worse than not having them because they fail about the time you are relying on them. This is a great idea but terrible in real life.

Exactly what needed to prevent over-watering of lawn - connected to Rachio system.

I purchased this for my Rachio Series 3 controller. It does what it says it will do.Calibration was easy and was simple to set up.It’s a on/off switch to the rain controller. My disappointment is less to do with this product, but more that my rain controller doesn’t take a % value of when it shuts off if it is going to water or not, just that I set the interval of the sensor to turn off the controller.

Easy to hook up. I gave it a 4 star since I really don't know if it is really working.

It is easy to install but rather complicate to manually calibrate and I did not found a reset button

This was such a disappointment. I wrestled with this thing for months trying to get it to work. Wasted thousands of gallons of water thinking it was operating properly only to find out that yes it would restrict irrigation when the moisture level fell below 50%, but then it continues to allow watering until the moisture level in the soil rises back up to 90%. If you live in a part of the country that has a high clay content in your soil, the moisture level in the summer time never gets anywhere near 90%. So the sensor was allowing the sprinklers to run every day!I called Toro Customer Service to see if there was anything I could do. They verified the 90% threshold to restrict watering again was programmed into the software and said there was nothing I could do given my soil type.Don't buy this sensor unless you measure the moisture content in your soil to confirm your sprinklers can get the moisture level back up to 90% in the summer.

The first problem was because the part came in from USA. Amazon charged me tax and than when it crossed the border I was charged canadian tax again. The part did not work, I phoned Toro they determined that the part was faulty but they would not send me the new part, they would only send the part to the place I brought the part from, but Amazon does not do any dealings with third party vendors, so where does what leave me????? So I am out over 400.00 dollars.
