This stuff tins the tip of a soldering iron extremely well. Be aware that the consistency of the product is like fine sand. So open the container very carefully lest you spill the contents on the floor.

I bought this soldering iron tip tinner because some of my older iron tips weren't performing the way they used to after some trial and error abuse on my part. I already had some tip tinner laying around that was super old, like decades old, and it wasn't really working.The old tinner I had just sort of cleaned my iron tip and I had to immediately apply some solder to tin the tip. This new stuff works so much better! Just dip the tip into some tinner then wipe away on your sponge, good to go! Love it, can't go back to the old garbage I was using after this stuff spoiled me!Highly recommended.

EZ to use and works well. Container is a little too small. When putting tip of iron in or opening its EZ to spill. But as I said it does the job well.

So long story short, I use to solder a lot in High School and a little bit in college. That was maybe 20 years ago, so my skills have drifted off. Well I had a project I was working on, got a new soldering iron and all my pieces together to get started. Well I goofed and started using my soldering iron before Tinning. After 5 minutes of trying to solder I realized what was wrong and I tried to repair it. It was past the point of trying to fix anything because my tip got oxidized. So I new I needed something to fix that first before i can do anything else. Well hopped onto Amazon, found this little product, ordered it, received it and put it to use. Now it has been a miracle fix. The only problem is that cause I ruined my tip so bad I have to keep using this stuff. The product worked as its intended to work, its my goof up that made things difficult.

works real well for cleaning my soldering iron tips and re-tinning its a small tin and very easy to spill be careful opening.

I thought I would need a new tip since a coworker used extremely strong acid flux on it and seemed to have ruined it. A few dabs in this little coin-sized tin (pun intended) and my solder tip looks new again!
