About this item

  • Notes Before Buying: This fan light switch works on 2.4G WiFi only (not 5G). It requires 5 essential wires: neutral, fan load, light load, line, and ground wires. Ensure 2 separate wires for the fan and light on the old switch, and a neutral wire (homes before 1978 may lack this). No Hub or canopy module is needed, FCC-certified
  • About Compatibility: The smart ceiling fan switch is designed for single-pole (not 3-way) use. Not compatible with multiple dimmers on a circuit. Not compatible with fans equipped with built-in remote control/Bluetooth/Wi-Fi systems, DC motor fans, exhaust fans, or smart bulbs. Supports a maximum ceiling fan load of 1.5A with 4 fan speed controls, and a maximum light load of 150W for dimmable LED/CFL or 300W for incandescent bulbs
  • Lights Brightness and Fan Speed Control: Adjust fan speed and dim your lights from anywhere using the Smart Life App or Treatlife App. This 2-in-1 smart fan and light switch combo provides 4 fan speeds with smooth, non-flicker brightness dimming (10%-100%) for increased comfort. Gentle On & Off Lighting for comfortable visual effect
  • Timer and Schedule Setting: Create schedules to turn the light and fan on/off at specific times with preset brightness/speed or set the light to turn on and off randomly when you're on vacation to trick potential intruders
  • Hands-off Voice Control: Works with Alexa and Google Assistant (Not work with Homekit) to conveniently control the light and fan with a simple voice command, perfect for dark rooms or when your hands are full. Say goodbye to reaching for the pull chains to ON/OFF your fan or light

  • The smart fan switch works with 2.4GHz Wi-Fi only, not 5GHz. Ensure pairing is completed within 3 minutes, as exceeding this time will require restarting the process. For good connections, install the switch with strong Wi-Fi and a stable connection.

  • This issue may occur if the switch is in a spot with weak Wi-Fi or too far from your router. Move it to an area with a stronger signal. If it’s still offline, follow the re-pairing instructions on the back of the device to reconnect.

  • The dimmer switch works only with dimmable LED/CFL bulbs (up to 150W) and incandescent bulbs (up to 300W). It won’t control non-dimmable, smart, or remote-controlled lights. Make sure your bulbs are compatible before use.

  • The switch supports most ceiling fans, but if your fan has a canopy module, it must be removed. It supports up to 1.5A fan load with 4-speed control.

  • The switch requires 5 essential wires: neutral, fan load, light load, line, and ground. It works with single-pole circuits only. If you're unsure about the wiring, please consult an electrician.

I purchased (with my own money) and installed 3 TreatLife Ceiling Fan & Light Dimmer Smart Switches from Amazon. For the best total price, I ordered one two-pack and one single pack. I installed two using the included faceplates, and one using a custom faceplate as you can see in my pictures without any problems. Since there are 5 wires to attach (with wire nuts) for each switch, I took plenty of time preparing my boxes. I first straightened all of the wires (including the required neutral) and then carefully folded them into the box so they could be pushed to the far back once connected. Using this install method made it easy to push the box into place. Being neat and taking my time really helped with squeezing in the extra switch depth.Once I turned the power back on after installation, the switches were flashing at me, but the manual operation of the switches worked fine. Then I connected them not to the TreatLife app, but to the Smart Life appwhich I use all of the time. The app installation steps to add the new switches were the same as adding other smart devices. For the install, I choose the smart dimmer switch in the app. The switches work on 2.4GHz, just like most of my other smart devices. The set-up was easy. On the Smart Life app I renamed the switches to 1) Master Fan Light, 2) Guest Fan Light, and 3) Office Fan Light. On Smart Life, there are two dimmer settings you can set. The first one is the mode with choices of Mode1, Mode2, or Mode3. These pair with the type of bulb you are using. For me, I found using Mode1 was the brightest and allowed the lowest dimming. The second setting is the Dimming Range minimum value. For my CREE dimmable bulbs, I was able to set this at 1% and still have the bulbs turn on at that setting without any problems. So 1% is where I left the min setting. When using Alex or Google, you will find 3 devices for each switch you install. So as an example, for the master bedroom, I named them Master Fan Light, Master Light, and Master Fan. So I can ask Alexa forthings like "Master Light On", "Master Light 25%", "Master Fan On", and "Master Fan Level 2". Remember that the fan has 4 levels.Likes: - fan has 4 speeds - light is dimmable (down to 1% for the CREE bulbs I used) - control both light and fan from the switch, alexa, google, or an app - Smart Life can control each fan or light from anywhere - Smart Life can set schedules, times, and even Smart Automation - a line of LED dots at the top of the switch indicates either fan speed or dimmer settingDislikes: - no backlight to find the switch in the darkOverall, these switches are great. I would recommend them. I only wish the logic of the light switches were backward from what they are. For me, I would like each switch LED to be on when the fan/light is off so I can find them in the dark. The TreatLife Smart Dimmer Switch (no fan) has this feature built-in and I like it.

I had three switches; one for ceiling fan, one for ceiling fan light, and one for the room can lights. I installed this combo switch from Treatlife on the fan / fan light along with a Feit Smart Dimmer for the cans. I used a blank for the switch that went away. The biggest issue with smart switches is they are so much bigger than a standard switch. It is very difficult to get the switches and wires into the Jbox. This combo switch eliminated two regular switches and it has high flex stranded wire leads. That made it a little easier to install and get everything back in the JBox.When I went to install the Feit dimmer in the Feit app, I was surprised to find that the Treatlife combo switch installed there as well. It unexpectedly became the easiest home automation install I have done. So I can not comment on the Treatlife app. Never even got around to downloaded it.Alexa picked the device up with no issue. The light is easy to control "Alexa Set Light Name to 69%" .. Done. The fan is a little more difficult. You have to be very exact with your speech. "Alexa set Fan Name SPEED TO LEVEL 3". You have to say Speed and you have to say the level. Percentages will not work and just saying fan will not work. I had another smart Fan controller that didn't have those limitations .. But it was Zwave, twice the cost, and didn't control the light. So I'm a big fan of the this TreatLife Switch.I've got another one that will be getting installed soon. I will use the Treatlife app and update.

#### UPDATE - REVIEW IS NOW 4-STARS ####The day after I posted this review, full functionality with the Alexa Smart Life Skill has been restored. At this time, the skill is working better than ever. I highly recommend that you do not use the same name for your devices with Alexa.**** BUYER BEWARE!!! ****So I was going to give this a 4 star review, but I’ll tell you why it’s now a 1-star review.Physical installation was pretty easy, yay, great!Fan and Light Dimmer control from the various Tuya iOS Apps (Tuya Smart, Smart Life, TreatLife), still works well, and I’ll go as far as to say, very well! Kudos there.Buttons are OK to press, doesn’t feel cheap, doesn’t feel premium either. I don’t have complaints about them. Dimmer response and fan control are speedy and work well. I do wish there was a button press or double button press or some sort of combo for instant full brightness instead of having to repeatedly tap the dim up button, or wait excessively long for the press and hold to make it jump up from its lowest setting to its highest. I have one fan kit with a single halogen bulb and another with 2 standard LED bulbs, and in both cases, the dimmer does perform well. Using the smartphone app, the controls are instantaneously QUICK! My kudos again on that design aspect.**HOWEVER** Like most people these days who invest in smart home devices, I bought this to integrate with my chosen voice assistant, Alexa (I can’t comment on functionality through Google Assistant). Initially I had this working with Alexa using the Smart Life Skill controlling 2 different dimmer switches independently. From the get-go it worked albeit wonky, but then the Alexa skill functionality declined and fast! Within a few hours of the dimmers responding 90% of the time by voice (all features functionally working), the Alexa skill began to complain about them, stating repeatedly: “[device name] doesn’t support that”. These are commands that it was responding to using the exact stated syntax just hours earlier. My dimmers and their independent subdevices (fan and light) were all uniquely named, so there should have been no confusion as to which I was attempting to control. Eventually after stating what I wanted to do, frustratingly, 4 or 5 times in different ways, occasionally the device would eventually do what I asked by voice. However, at that point, I could have just got up off my butt to walk over to the dimmer to control it faster than that, and that totally defeats the point of using a voice assistant!!Fast forward about 3 weeks right now from the initial installation, and it appears Alexa support for the dimmers has disappeared almost entirely. I say “almost”, because after linking and delinking, and naming and renaming, the devices multiple times over and over again using all 3 Tuya Apps that I’m aware of, the only devices Alexa can discover are the dimmers themselves, and NOT their individual subcontrols for the fan and lights. Under normal circumstances, when things were working, the subcontrols are independently discovered so you can control each independently (one for Fan and Light each). So, what that means is you’re left with a single discoverable device per dimmer that is the main dimmer unit itself with no control over its independent fan or light components, and that main dimmer device that is discovered does NOT provide any control functionality — in fact it reports an error for its status as “device unrecognized” or something to that effect within the Alexa app under your list of devices. Now I’m assuming the developers are aware of this, and I even assume they’re probably, maybe, hopefully, working on it. However, it’s inexcusable to market these dimmers as Alexa compatible, sell them in multi-packs, and not have the skill properly developed to handle multiple dimmers without issue. Furthermore, to reduce functionality to the point where even a single dimmer can no longer be properly controlled with Alexa, and then not release any sort of statement regarding that, is insulting to customers and infuriating.So.... my 1-star review, which would have been 4-stars on day 1, or probably 5-stars had everything worked right away with no hiccups, is my way of publicly saying “I do not tolerate the current state of this product, I hope it informs and inhibits other customers from wanting to invest in TreatLife, and if full Alexa functionality is not restored quickly by whoever is responsible for this mess, I will be returning these dimmers for a refund before my return window closes).
