Cant speak on the longevity yet, the leather feels cheap a little and metal might rust, might not, but these are cheap in price so its to be expected, but still sturdy enough for what they are for. I wouldn't use them for work, but plenty good for occasional diy. Ordered to have on hand for when my dum dum cats get stuck up a tree and i used them today and they worked like a charm, effortlessly stuck into the tree and i could leisurely lean back without feeling like id slip and stuffed the cat into the carrier. Spikes were plenty sharp, and we both got down safely!

I finally got to try these out today for the first time. I only went about 3 feet up before deciding to stop and research these some more. I think the spikes should be on the same side as the metal brace that runs up your leg. My feet wanted spread apart which meant I was going to have to exert constant energy to keep my legs straight. I think it would be more comfortable if the spikes were like I described. I noticed most of the other sold on Amazon have the spikes like I described. Also the foot straps are to short. I really have to tighten them to get to the first hole. I wanted to like them, I really did. The quality seemed good, especially for someone like me who will rarely use these.
