This tree climbing spike set seemed like a good idea and looked the part, until it arrived. The leather looks incapable of handling my 210 pound frame. The belt and accessories are ok, but most of your weight will be on the leather with every step higher. It looks cracked straight out of the box.The hardware doesn't appear to be good quality. I spent some time working with 316 stainless and T6 aluminum. With those you can see the quality weather it's machined, cast or stamped. The metal here appears to be cast but the texture doesn't look refined. The buckles seem to flex very easily.

This is not my first set of climbing spikes by far, but it is one of the nicest sets I've had. This kit comes with everything you need, and a very nice version of it at that. I got a cheaper set off of Amazon in the past, and it was built out of shin guards and zip ties LOL not what you want to have your life depending on. None of that here. This set seems to be very high quality, and very well made, out of all high quality materials. The metal the spikes are made of itself, it's very thick, and has no give to it. The gas are very sharp and recessed up on the ankle, so you can put them on at the truck, and be able to walk without tearing everything up. That in itself is a great feature. Everything you need to safely attach the spikes to your legs is included in the kit. Plus, a bunch more stuff. You get a high-grade climbing belt as well, very nice. Some extra straps and work gloves of course, but they give you the adjustable tree strap too. I usually have to buy one as an extra on the side. And this one comes with a very nice fall stop, used as a adjustment, but can be repurposed as a fall stop. Overall, this is a very well put together set. Very much worth the price. Everything included, would cost more to buy it all separate, great deal. Everything should last a lifetime. Highly recommended.
