Installed this in my 1972 VW Bug.Original pneumatic system relied on air pressure from the spare tire to the fluid bottle, which then in turn pushed the fluid to a valve on the wiper control on the steering column, then the fluid would travel to the spray nozzle. After 43 years the long since abandoned system on my car had dry rotted and I was not keen on the idea of utilizing the original system for two reasons. One I like my spare to stay fully inflated, two I don't want the windshield wiper switch / washer valve to fail and short out my wiring.I utilized the original reservoir bottle but removed the air pressure hose that went to the spare tire in order to vent the bottle. Obtained new spray nozzle and tubing from Bus Depot. The tubing and spray nozzle are available here on Amazon as well but I was placing a Bus Depot order anyway for other items. The plumbing was very simple from the bottle to the pump then pump to the sprayer. I installed a momentary toggle switch on my dash and wired it into the circuit that was marked for radio which woks perfect as I do not have one. All tee's and splices that come with the kit will work with the correct size washer hose for your VW.This pump performs better than expected only dilemma VW Bug owners will face is if you want your washer bottle in the original location you can't mount the pump under it. Since my pump sits above the spray bottle the "prime" drains back after each use. Simple solution will be to install an inline check valve.For VW Bus and Transporter crowd this will work in your bus as well! Added advantage on a Bus like my 1974 Westy is the washer reservoir location. You should be able to mount the pump below and and not have to worry about adding a check valve. When I get to the point that I install this in my Bus I will add a review for it.

Tried a cheaper one and it could not lift out of the tank. This one is a beast.

I wasn't expecting much from this pump, but so far so good. It has been almost 2 months since installing it and it is still working. If you mount this above the tank expect a delay in getting spray on the window. But once it does spray it is comparable to the factory pump. It is more noisy that the stock pump.

I was pretty skeptical about this product after I found out it is a universal replacement (found out after I bought it). My 1993 Dodge Stealth ES is hard to find parts for and my only other option was to replace the whole tank & pump for one-fifty. However, the instructions were very easy to follow and had about 3 or 4 layouts to pick from. I decided mine was most like layout B which was very easy to install. The hardest part about mine is my windshield washer fluid tank and pump are under my battery so I had to take that out to get to it. Basically all I had to do was cut the positive and negative copper wires to the old pump and connect them to this new one with the two supplied blue wire connectors. Then I took the old water hose that went into the old pump and connected it to this new pump. Finally I took the black hose that came with the kit and connected that to the new pump and to the old pump where the old water hose went into previously. I was not able to screw the pump into the firewall or anywhere else, mostly because I did not have the tools to do so and was in a hurry (also the supplied screws were a little short). But I just secured the pump between some other things and made sure it wouldn't wiggle loose. The first time I tested it, water came out just like it should! It's been a long time since I've been able to use my windshield washer fluid but thanks to this, I was able to get if fixed. I would say I have slightly higher than average skill when it comes to cars....I change my own oil, air filters, coolant, brakes, rotors, struts, and other minor work. I would think the average person would be able to get this installed, and hey, if yours is broken, you really don't have anything to lose since this is at a great price. I will update this post if I encounter any issues.

I needed a pump for 2006 Cobalt and it has a large intake hole.The replacement which their site said would fit, and the picture did look like it, will not work. The picture did not match what I got.No way this will work. This and the unit will not fit in the slot that it is made for either. Waited a week or more to find out. Local stores do not carry, so will have to go to GM and pay a fortune, which is what I should have done and saved all this time wasted. Low price was a sucker buy. Do not trust their site pictures or the function they have that wsays it is the right part!

I selected this pump to replace the first such pump which quit delivering wash fluid to the windshield after about five years. It is the same model number and was an easy replacement (except for climbing under my van's dash upside down) I use distilled water with a small bit of dish detergent in the system. So why did the first pump fail? I took the old one apart and was not impressed with the pump rotor material selected. It failed with not much use? The motor still works fine. I hope I get five years plus out of the replacement (If I still have the van)

Nice little pump. Using it to pump water out of a dripless air conditioner. Took off 1 star because instructions say not to run pump more than 5 sec. at a time. Otherwise works great.
