First of all, what I received for my $609 was a cheap old android tablet with an antenna wrapped in a cheap, red plastic case with a charger. That was zipped up in it’s own cloth case and tossed into a shipping box with a single packing bubble that did absolutely nothing to protect from shipping (maybe that’s why it didn’t work). There was zero paperwork/instructions included; you have to go online for the “manual”… which is nothing more than a quick-start guide; there is no troubleshooting guide for when things go wrong… and things definitely went wrong. The charger did not charge the tablet, the battery image showed up (if you’re familiar with droid tablets) but the charger only held its shipped 10%, it did nothing to increase the charge. Luckily, I had a micro USB charger for it and that charged it fine… so far, I still would have kept it.Once charged and turned on, the software would not detect any signals at all on any frequency/channel. The SSID table view also wouldn’t show any SSIDs… which the android OS had no problems finding and using.I contacted support about the charger and no signal or SSIDs and the response was to make sure the antenna was plugged in (no mention of the charging problem). And, that of the antenna was plugged in, I’d have to send the brand new tablet in for repair. The case prevents the antenna plug from moving at all so there was no chance of it being loose/unplugged (I pressed on it to be sure all the same… it was definitely fully seated as much as the plug housing and case would allow… still no help).I obviously wasn’t paying $609 for a tablet and antenna combo worth half that (even with the clunky kiosk mode software) and then immediately sending it back in for repairs… so I just refunded it through Amazon and will build my own software defined radio setup for about $50 instead.

Don't buy this, they don't offer much help. I am on my 2nd unit. The battery charge plug does not stay in. The manual is terrible. Poor sensitivities on 5g. I asked for a human to call NOT happening. I asked why do I have to turn this on a few times to see signals, told me it's not for me return it. Really. The email does not work in this new world of less secure apps. Seems these are old stock and the batteries are dead when you get it. I wish they would sell the app and I can furnish my own android. Good luck if you bought one.

This Triplett WiFI Hound Totally Fails all my Expectations, it's just a cheap tablet with a useless app, functionality is impractical for professional use, despite manufacturer's claims. My phone and tablet can do the same thing using a free app, I was expected something much more sophisticated for the high price. I already had a similar free app downloaded on my tablet that has the same abilities. No instruction books or paperwork included.Any professional IT guy would totally feel scammed by this product.

You could use the WiFi Man app on your smartphone and accomplish the same thing.

Found a problem in my office 10 minutes after I turned it on just to play with it. If you sell WiFi AP's you need this.

I wrote a respectful, accurate, and detailed review critical of this product. I spoke glowingly about the Triplett of old. I also made a comparison to products from a place where factory workers live in oppressive conditions. I guess it didn't sit well with the powers that be and was rejected - perhaps they thought it would reduce profits. So, in short, there are much cheaper devices of equal or better quality.
