It's as quiet as forced humming from the nose.Was debating buying a higher-end mute cause I've bought mutes before that were either too loud or had blowing resistance. This mute was such a great buy and was priced very reasonably.

I had not been doing enough practicing at home because I didn't want anybody to hear me (make mistakes). I have tried straight and cup mutes, but they do not quiet the sound of my trombone enough to make me feel comfortable. The sound from this mute is nearly inaudible from behind a closed door. I can make all the mistakes I want and not worry that anybody cares. Sound (pitch) in the range above high F is less than optimal, but it is possible to work in this range. After getting this mute, I have been practicing much more at home and it makes a big difference in getting me ready for performances.

Excellent for practicing in my apartment. I did notice that I became a good bit sharper with it in, but honestly my tuning is an issue normally anwyays so I may not be a good baseline.

This mute worked much better than cheap red and white colored ones that feel like they are made out of cork board and corrugate cardboard. It reduces volume significantly (moreso than the cheap red and white ones). The only downside, is that I can't hear my exact sound on trombone identically to a quiet version of the original. It will distort sounds slightly, but It is the best practice mute I've ever seen out of 2 or 3 I used haha.TLDR: Great product, great value, allows me to quietly play t-bone in a Duplex. Only downside, it does slightly distort sound. Small price to pay for being able to play music in my room any time of night or day

Indeed fits a flugelhorn. Silences well, but beware that it messes up the intonation on my ACB Doubler's Flugelhorn—for example, playing low C to middle C sounds like a minor seventh. This didn't lead me to deduct any stars however, since I realize the mute is meant for trombone.Quality is fine. The plastic is a little thin around the edges of the bulb, but it's flexible and I don't feel like it will break. The foam is awesome. Can't complain.Not bad for the value, but contrary to other flugelhorn-playing reviewers, I would recommend looking elsewhere for a flugelhorn mute.

I bought this for my tenor trombone. I found that it definitely feels cheap, but does the job and silences the sound of the trombone. I actually found it to distort the sound and tone quite a bit, moreso in the lower registers than the higher registers. I'll probably practice without the mute unless absolutely necessary.

Gleich vorab: bei dem Produkt handelt es sich NICHT um einen Straight-Mute, sondern einen Practice-Mute, einen Übungsdämpfer, der nur die Lautstärke mindert!Ich kann das Produkt für all jene, die nicht ~100€ für einen Markendämpfer ausgeben wollen, nur empfehlen.Der Dämpfer wirkt zwar qualitativ nicht höchstwertig (Verpackung abgegriffen und zerkratzt, Dämpfer gibt bei Druck etwas nach) - doch für den Preis angemessen.Der Ton klingt von der Klangfarbe her etwas verändert, doch die Lautstärke wird überzeugend gemindert.Alles in allem erfüllt der Dämpfer seinen Zweck und ist für den Preis absolut in Ordnung.(In Kombination mit einem F / B - Doppelhorn)
