We bought this for my son's upright bass, and it keeps it firmly in place while he plays. He also has a really thick end pin and the indent in the disk is large enough to accommodate it.

This works great to prevent my sons double bass endpin from damaging the carpet during his distance learning strings lessons. It does not slide around either! No rubber smell at all.

Just received this today. Was shipped and delivered fast, but looks used. I saw another review that said their rock stop looked used too. It's in the package and it doesn't look like it's been tampered with. Maybe it's just some cheap metal that's degrading quickly or this has been sitting on the shelf for an eternity? Either way, I'm not going to return it because my daughter needs it for school in September (going from violin to the cello) and we're not really sure if the school is going to provide a rock stop, as they had it on the supply list. As long as it does its job properly, I can get past the discoloration. It is a little disappointing that it looks like that and it's supposed to be brand new, but it wasn't expensive and I guess you get what you pay for. I'd be furious if I'd actually paid a chunk of change for it and it looked like this. Oh well.

Does exactly what it’s made to do. Works great with cello, no more slipping and sliding on hardwood floors or carpeting. Definitely would recommend.

We think it is a good endpin. Our 17-yr old son loses them at a rate of 3+ a month, so we couldn't guess at the quality. Ought to be an Amazon 'Dash' button for these if the bass player is a high schooler.

Nice thick rubber, good size for using even with larger (heavier) instruments. I was worried that it would be a dinky little thing and would slide around. The rubber footing stays in place and the instrument doesn't move during performances. I would definitely buy again!

Problem solved! No more sliding nor scratches on the floor. Stable instrument allows better technique and easier playing.

Aparentemente tiene buen agarre pero a mà no me funciona bien, pareciera que no hay "stop", tengo que estar acomodando el contrabajo a los pocos minutos de que ya lo acomode.
