The sensor fit well and no issues with installing. Brake lights wouldn't respond right away, and would not allow my truck to get out of park. I would suggest to just pay the money for a motorcraft or something not so cheap that's aftermarket.

The brake light switch replaced the original switch on my '08 F150 perfectly. In fact, they looked identical laying next to each other. It fixed my 'no brake lights' problem but introduced a new dilemma. I couldn't get the gear selector out of park. This switch operates two things, the brake lights and the shifter lock on automatic trans vehicles.After much fiddling and testing the switch, I discovered the shifter lock side of the switch was not making reliable contact when pressing the brake pedal.In the process of installing, removing, and testing the switch,I managed to bruise a rib,, cut my forearm and finger, and unknowingly blow the 10A fuse associated with the brake lights. That fuse also services the a/c, cruise control, and ABS system. So now I have no a/c, no cruise control and the ABS light on the dash. But hey, my brake lights worked...I ended up taking the little metal contacts from the 'park lock' side of my original switch and swapping them into the new switch. Everything is back to normal after replacing the fuse.I hope you have better luck with your switch.
