This is a good stout handle. Its a little thicker than usual - which is great for my large hands and definitely fills my hand better than replacement handles I'b bought in the past. The grip is nicely contoured and its very comfortable.It comes with one wooden wedge and two metal ones... exactly what you need to form a strong bond with your tool, and the head end is unusually large, so you can fit it to almost any hammer head with a utility knife and maybe a little sand paper (Did you really expect any handle would come perfectly fitted for whatever random head you're sticking it into???)Some reviewers dislike it because it's not polyurethaned, and if you're an occasional user, or just want pretty things hanging in your garage next to your paint scraper and wet-vac attachments, then I guess that's a valid criticism, but I use my hammers at work every day and polyurethaned handles increase fatigue because they're more slippery so you have to hold them tighter.If you feel the need to slather your tools with polyurethane, then you have that option, knock yourself out. But I'll take an unfinished handle lightly coated in linseed oil every day of the week.For me, this handle ticks all the boxes... its stout, got just the right contour and it doesn't force me to sand off all the plastic before I can use it. If I ever need to replace another handle, I'll be right back here getting another one.

Perfect fit for my old little beater. Handle comes without any finish which is perfect if you wrap your handles with friction tape. Comes with a hardwood wedge and 2 steel wedges. I pressed the hardwood in with Titebond and a 20T press. Its in there and now that Im retired from the Ironworkers, should last me for the rest of my years.

The only place I found a replacement handle for my 4 lb. sledge hammer was Amazon.I should have been more careful in selecting the length. The handle fit perfectly, but was a little short to be as effective as the right length would have been. I’ll use it like it is, but next time I’ll get a longer one.

It will fit my sledge hammer that was my uncles. I like the feel and it appears to be strong. Looking forward to using it for the first time.

replaced an ancient set of these we've had in the kitchen for years that finally broke.work great and fingers are again safe from the toaster when extracting your toast

A good handle, seems ot be good hard wood. But the mating area was much too large for an older head, required shaving and really driving it home.
