- When an airlock bubbles, it simply means that the air pressure inside the bucket or carboy is sufficiently high to push up the little column of water and relieve the pressure.
- If it fails to bubble, all it means is that the pressure within the fermenter isn’t high enough to make it do so. This can easily happen if the lid isn’t fully closed, or if the seal isn’t perfect.

Just know that the white rubber things fit only large bottles. They will not fit a wine bottle. I just cut one to size for that and it still sealed fine. They're difficult to clean but that seems normal for these types and they shouldn't get too dirty anyways. I thought I might break one installing it with how tight the fit was but had no issues with durability.

Works well- plastic is very clear and the airlock functions as advertised.I found the recommended hole size (3/8â€) was just a touch too small to fit the airlock correctly once the gasket was installed. Also, the gaskets tend to tear when installed in holes in thin material, such as mason jar lids. Make sure to sand down any burrs formed from drilling before installing the gaskets.

These use a silicone bung. The pros are the silicone bungs do not have a bad order compared to the rubber bungs. However, the silicone bungs are harder to get into the carboy bung hole and easily pop out of the bung hole after you install them. What works for me is that you have to insert the bubbler into the bung first, then force the silicone bung into the bung hole by pressing around the bung with your thumbs until the bung seats level with the top of the carboy. If you try to press it down any less and have any portion of the bung above the carboy top, then it will eventually pop out. Also, the inside of the glass bung hole and the silicone bung has to be completely dry. Any moisture at all and they will pop out.

I wish the tubes had a slightly larger diameter…like 3/8†instead of 1/4â€. They just seem to need more pressure to be present.The air locks are crystal clear! I like that! The grommets are perfect! The stoppers/bungs are the best I have seen yet!! I will absolutely seek out more of these bungs to replace the ones I already have! I can’t say enough about them!!
