5 gallon batch of cherry melomel I made in a recycled 5 gallon plastic water jug came out just fine for the four to six weeks it was in there. Couldn't get over the feeling that this thing might leak only because the bottom edge doesn't seem to tightly hug the top of the gallon container. But no obvious issues with the product so I guess it was fine. Wasnt sure what the purpose of two openings (different sizes) on top was, but again, it did the job.

It didn't give any instructions on how to assemble the universal carboy cap to an existing ferment jar. It did not fit the existing wooden opening on the lid.
