I was only running 20A through this relay, half the rating. It hit 250 degrees and started to melt. Definitely a fire hazard. I should not have mounted it on wood which acts as an insulator, and also should have used a heat sink. I had no idea they would get this hot.Just be aware.

These relays were used to control a 120V 20A resistive load. They are rated at 40A. The load was limited to about 30% duty cycle by a cycle timer and good heat sinking and fan cooling was provided. On the initial use they suffered a simultaneous catastrophic failure. The relays exploded in their enclosure.Before and after pictures attached.

Just what I needed. I needed an ac to ac relay and these worked perfectly. Used them for a floor heat system where the thermostats were 24 bolt ac and the pumps were 120.
