I used this to change the u-joints on my Jeep TJ. It worked great. It made short work of the u joint change. No beating and banging to get the u joint. I know some of the reviews complain about the quality, maybe they've fixed that issue. Because I used an impact wrench on mine with no problems.

I bought this too more safely remove the u joints (instead of the manual hammer and socket method I’ve done in the past). The tool is coated in a smooth finish and will absolutely not grip onto the u joint. I tried everything I could think of to keep it from slipping off. Finally resorted to the hammer method and have removed one joint with little trouble. Absolute waste of money.

The product is not worth buying. It broke when I used the impact wrench to tighten the bolt to remove the old universal joint on my Toyota Tacoma drive shaft. The material needs to be more durable and stronger because the threading on the bolt stripped off when it was being tightened.

First time use and tool broke. 1/2 inch sized hex end easily rounded with any pressure. 6 point socket worked well but the ears holding onto the driveshaft bent on first use. Waste of time and money.

Hey it's better than using a hammer and socket. It saves the hands from getting smashed all to hell as well. I used it for 2 u-joints on my Tacoma. Got them removed and replaced, truck back in service. At the end, the last cap, it was beginning to slip, and the collar that holds it in place so you have pulling leverage, it had opened up just enough to allow it to slip off under pressure. Blame that on the grade of metal it's made from. All in all, it's better than how I've had to remove u-joints in the past. Saves a lot of time.

After removing 3 u joints the “glove†portion of the tool was worn where it clamps the yoke and the area the threaded rod goes into the glove started to produce metal shavings. If only needed for one u joint good product. Only writing review because there’s no way to get product support other than automated “troubleshootingâ€
