The storage crate was very easy to put together. Even when full of records, the side handles make it easy to move. This is a great new home for my Beatles collection. It's no longer in a milk crate gathering dust in my closet.

Overall, the box is well made. The top is attached to the box, folds over, and has a Velcro closure. There’s a very, very small (1†x 2â€) plastic slot on the lid so you can label the contents. It would be helpful to have a much larger label area though.The fabric handles are sewn onto the sides. They’re sewn on pretty well, but I don’t really feel very confident that they could stand up to carrying 90 vinyl albums around for any reasonable distance.Of course you can use this storage box for any number of other items around your house. And it would certainly be practical for STORING record albums—I would just be leery of carrying them around (please wear steel toed shoes if you do that!)

When I was unfolding this box I accidentally held it up in the direction of the light and I could see right through the bottom of the box! I was shocked to see how thin it was and wasn't sure I wanted to attempt to put my records in it because it would never be strong enough. Thankfully the box does come with a flat reinforcement board for the bottom of the box without which I wouldn't use the box at all. My box did not include a divider which isn't a problem since I'm using the box to store other things than records so the item I have is a box with a single, undivided storage area. The box lid has a flap in front of the box that secures the lid in place but it could use a flap on the sides of the box as well because otherwise the sides bulge open; a flap with velcro on each open side would help keep the box contents clean and dust-free.I ordered a different record storage box the same day that I ordered this one, for comparison purposes; the other box was slightly more expensive but it did have a divider flap and it had canvas straps that went from the handle all the way underneath the bottom of the box.. Those straps made the other box feel a lot more secure than this one (particularly for purposes of being able to move the box). I wouldn't order this one again for purposes of storing my record collection.

This record storage box is a great way to store and protect your records. I have lots of records, most are in plastic milk crates. Those work great, but I have cats who like to walk on or worse yet, chew on the corners of the records in the crates. With this storage box, it has a cover, so records are protected from dust, direct sunlight and pets! Plus it has handles which make it easy to carry or love around. This storage box folds up for easy storage if you won’t be using it for some reason, but otherwise store your records without worry of damage.
