UPDATE 2/22After my initial review, ULTIMEA’s customer service came through and sent me a replacement—A+ for a company that actually believes in their product (take notes, other brands). So, I plugged it in, waited with bated breath like I was about to witness some sort of sound miracle... and boom! The ULTIMEA soundbar powered on! Connected to Bluetooth faster than I can find the remote, so that was a win.As for sound quality? Well, it’s decent. It has three modes: Movie, Music, and Games, plus an extra bass button for those who like to feel like they're at a concert (though, let’s be honest, it’s more like a polite whisper of bass). It’ll definitely improve your TV’s audio, but if you’re hoping for a stadium-like experience, keep dreaming.I’m bumping my rating from 1 star to 4 stars because A) customer service is top-notch, and B) for the price, this soundbar does the job—just don’t expect it to make you feel like you're in surround sound heaven.**I had high hopes for this ULTIMEA 2.2ch sound bar, but unfortunately, it did not power on right out of the box. Tried different outlets —nothing. Completely dead on arrival.Super frustrating and a major disappointment. I was looking forward to testing the sound quality, but instead, I’m dealing with a door stopper. Hopefully, I just got a defective unit, but this was a letdown.

For the current price of $80 the Ultimea Sound Bar is a great value for what it is. That is, a decent sound bar with good audio quality to complement our existing on-a-budget racing sim rig.Expectations going into this were quite low given the price and the unknown brand name. The pre-existing setup consisted of just the down firing TV speakers of a Sony Bravia hooked up to a Martin Logan Dynamo 700 subwoofer and Buttkicker Gamer Plus transducer on the headphone output channel of the TV. To keep things simple, I didn't want to run a full blown home theatre receiver setup like we do in the main living area. This setup left something to be desired with good LFE and decent highs but the mids were severely lacking.Enter the Ultimea sound bar. Just out of the box, by itself, it doesn't amount to much as other reviews indicate it is lacking the LFE oomph. As part of the collective setup however, it fills in the parts that were missing with the frequencies. Clarity is decent for what it is. This never happens with a setup that wasn't intended to break the bank consisting of components that had no other purpose. To say it fit right in is an understatement.Features - Although the sound bar can be used as two independent speakers, I elected to join the two together by twisting the mounting points together and use it as a center channel type setup. It has the necessary inputs to support all modern day outputs from audio sources which include HDMI, TOSLink, AUX, USB and Bluetooth 5.3. It even has a subwoofer output which I find under-gained as I elected to use the output from the TV instead. BT is super simple to pair with my phone. There are also three modes (Game, Movie, Music) that have different EQ settings within each mode. Very subtle differences between each mode but better than nothing. The Bass mode on the remote is somewhat confusing as it appears to be single button but there is actually a +/- toggle on each side of the oblong button that isn't obvious at first. For something of this price point, there are very little limitations which is impressive. That's not to say there aren't any. One thing I find annoying is that the unit doesn't have an auto power-off feature when there isn't any audio input for a certain amount of time. It's also not obvious when the unit is powered on or off so there have been instances where it's been left powered on for hours at a time while not in use. Other than that, I'm pleasantly surprised by the performance of this unit.

As I always feel I need to say at the start of any reviews of audio equipment, I am very much the opposite of an audiophile and probably can’t accurately comment on the finer details of the sound produced. However, I can comment in general terms about how it sounds to me with my more amateur opinion. So, I was impressed by the Ultimea soundbar - it’s a well designed and attractive gadget for sprucing up your TV’s audio without breaking the bank.I like how the detachable design gives options on speaker placement - it comes in two parts which can slot together to form a conventional horizontal soundbar but then also stay as two separate speakers for standing up on either side of the TV (they still have to be wired together to function as a pair, with the supplied short or long audio cables). Sound quality is decent as far as I’m concerned - vocals are crisp, and the bass is punchy enough for casual viewing, though I read that it won’t blow you away if you’re after a full cinematic experience. There are three options for connecting the soundbar to a TV but we just used the HDMI lead, which worked just fine. The remote is straightforward enough to operate, and the Bluetooth connectivity works a treat for streaming music and podcasts etc. There’s an app you can download that lets you tweak all the equaliser settings to get the sound exactly how you want it, and that’s also pretty easy to set up and use.For the price, it’s a solid upgrade from tinny TV speakers and comes with all the cables and stands you’ll need, as well as fixings to let you mount it to the wall. A good pick if you’re after something simple and versatile.

I’ve never seen a soundbar that can be used as one unit, or split into 2 singular units, so I was interested to see how this works. In the box, they arrive as separate units, with plenty of different cables, and stands for each speaker.I decided to connect them together; you twist them together and they connect easily and do look like a single sound bar.I connected them via optical cable (included). You need to ensure the cable is correctly connected, otherwise you get no sound or a lot of crackle. However, once set up correctly, there are no issues. You use the remote to change the input setting. A nice remote, but you will need 2 AAA batteries. Really clear and simple remote to use - you won’t need an instruction manual for this. The sound quality is good, but nothing groundbreaking. This is unsurprising for the cost, but it does allow you to increase the volume by quite a lot, without good clarity. There are 3 preset EQ buttons which you can use accordingly.I tried Bluetooth to play music, which is easy to connect to, and doesn’t need your tv to be on. You can adjust volume through both the remote and your phone.I split the speaker into two. You need to connect both speakers together using a cable (included) that is 1m in length. No issues here, but you need to attach each speaker to their respective stands, which are also included. For the price, you get a really good quality product that also looks very smart. These speakers are definitely not as good as more expensive speakers, but they are still very good and versatile. You get everything you need in the box, and an instruction booklet that is easy to use for even the least tech savvy user.I can’t really fault this, super product!

I already have a couple of Ultimea soundbars jotted around the house and know as a brand they do deliver with quality sound at a reasonable price.I've been very happy with the overall sound quality produced from this and have been using it now for one month. I like to check no issues arise when it comes to electronics and can report that this is still going strong. What's actually suprised me the most is how crisp and clear vocals and instruments come through, they're really good and when listening to music the EQ seems to be spot on for where they should be.TV wise there's a good balance whether watching a show or even action series/films, it adds an extra level to absorb you into the content.I was worried that the lack of an external subwoofer would impact the quality too much but in actual fact it's fairly decent. You can up the bass on the soundbar itself and it remains clear with vocals, others would struggle here and you'd get distortion but I can report everything remains clear.I already have a separate MK subwoofer and when linked the audio from this is brilliant, the subwoofer needs to be active and have it's own power supply but you can use any with an RCA cable.I like the sleek look of the overall design and opted to connect as one long bar, you can have each speaker separate and stood with the included stands but I preferred to have it flat.Another good thing is the lighting in the corner goes off when playing music or watching TV. There's no distraction annoying you, simply press the remote and it will illuminate while you change EQ or volume and then it goes off.In the box you get everything you need, it's super easy to set up and I like the fact they've added two wall mount brackets.
