About this item

  • Dwarf Baby Tears is one of the smallest aquatic plants available while also proving to be one of the most impressive for creating that lush foreground seen in many stunning aquascapes.
  • This plant can grow submerged or emersed in dry start aquariums, Wabi Kusa, and when grown in Iwagumi layouts, the vast fields of green creates a captivating effect on any audience.
  • Medium to hard difficulty - requires medium to high lighting, a regular nutrient schedule, and additional Co2 is required. Because this plant is small with tiny roots, it can prove difficult to keep planted into the substrate initially.
  • Ultum Nature Systems tissue culture is cultivated in a sterile environment which guarantees this aquatic plant to be free of any unwanted pests such as snails or any microbial species.
  • Ships readily adaptable to plant and root in a 2.75” tissue culture cup. Simply rinse off nutrient gel, divide into smaller portions and plant!

Facts: I bought these and they were delivered January 15th 2025 Today is March 6th 2025. Little under two months. These reflect my pictures.Received: good condition. gel was in tact. Leafs were new and small. Fully wash these plants before you plant, any gel will cause problems. I separated out into chunks, I bought 5 cups for a 20gal tank. Dry start method, left uncovered for about an hour a day, watered one or twice a day, water table is just under the roots.Just a hygger full spectrum light, 12 hours/day but it’s winter and there’s no direct sunlight on this.Lava rock to build up soil, Ada amazonia for the substrate, fluval strata black sand as the top layer (1/2” about). So, opinions:In just under 2 months i was comfortable with root development and flooding this tank. Haven’t had any issues with floaters but I would like to see it closer to the substrate. A few trimmings will help now that they are rooted well enough. Co2 injections 8 hours a day and a lot of light make these things take off. I also have a hygger airstone going constantly. By far my most successful start. Zero pest hitchhikers like worms or snails. Idk if my method is the reason but 2 weeks into a flood and I haven’t had any deterioration of the dry start plants.Final thoughts: they’re beautiful. I would recommend to anyone looking to start. You just need to follow basic steps that are widely available and your results should be fairly similar. The fact I got 5 pods and all 5 have grown uniformly just shows there’s consistency in the product, delivered in the middle of winter in New England during a cold snap of a few weeks in the low teens (f). Nothing but a positive experience for me and now I have my dream aquascape growing.

Product shipped well packaged and with a heat pack which was still warm. Plants looked amazing in the cup, well better than any plant yet received. My review cannot go beyond this because the rest is up to me but I am very pleased with the shipping and packaging and heath of the plants. Thank you for allowing me to share.

My plant arrived in a million tiny pieces. Literally impossible to plant, the second it touches water it comes up to the top of the tank. They’re too small to even get into soil, sand or rocks without completely covering it.

Plants arrived and looked like a pile of green mush so I wasn’t sure what to think at first. But I carefully separated the plants and placed them in my tank. They puffed up like magic once they got in water and they look amazing! They have good roots and seem very healthy. So far they look great and my fish seem to be enjoying them. Very satisfied with my purchase at this point.

I’m gonna be honest, they came very green and healthy, however I cannot get the gel off of the tiny plants for the life of me and I’m basically tearing it apart, destroying it, and losing pieces of it as I’m rinsing it. They came alright but I don’t think I’m gonna use them as the gel is just not coming off and is getting lost in the plant and I don’t want that in my tank

Most tissue cultures I bought of this were healthy. One was overgrown and kind of didn't do as well. Otherwise it grew in nicely.

They arrived alive, healthy, and plentiful! I love the ease of putting them into the aquarium and that they are easy to separate. I got two easy to manage species so I'm happy with the plants! They're very bright and beautiful.
