I am very impressed that these arrived all the way, bang on time, from the U.S. to Ireland in perfect condition. Not only did they arrive in perfect condition, but with perfect dimensions ... precisely 604mm on all sides ... exactly what I needed. The wood has a beautiful, smooth texture and, even after priming, the grain is still visible, which is something I particularly like when painting. Despite the extra cost involved in shipping to Ireland, I would have no hesitation in buying these again ... something I plan to do in the very near future!

These birch panels are a great alternative, since I don't like fighting canvas texture and "give." The wood grain can show a bit sometimes. Because I use water based paint I have to prime them and then smooth the resulting raised grain . I recently saw that an artist used a carving tool in addition to paint to increase her options. She made curvy lines through her paint.

I hadn’t previously tried birch boards for oil painting and this product met my expectations. I primed the board with white acrylic before paint with water mixable oils. Very nice result. Just paint the sides black or white and you have a built-in frame on your masterpiece.

These were perfect for signs I made. They were easy to use and packaged well! They are the exact size I needed and are more of a canvas wood than a wood block. Super easy to paint on and great for the price.

The panels arrived with nicks on the edges and torn plastic packaging. The mailing box was not damaged so assume they were like this when they were packed. They are "usable" for collage work, but not perfect if used for a gallery painting. The birch wood is nice and smooth.

Received a package of two wood panels in good condition. You could paint directly onto the panels, however my purpose was to make art on paper and glue the paper to the panel using gel medium or modpodge. This is an inexpensive way of displaying a piece of art without purchasing a mat or a frame. I have painted the edges using black acrylic paint for a finished look. The panels are probably 1/4" thick with edging on the reverse that is probably 3/4" thick. Very sturdy. It should last forever.
