This is my go-to radio for communications on the ocean. I have frequent trips where I need to speak with captains and this radio has a BIG bright screen, grabs frequencies well and FLOATS if I drop it. I've purchased a few and keep coming back to this lovely workhorse!

I actually have both a 155 and 275, but I'd recommend anyone go ahead and get the 275. I really don't see what the purpose of the 155 is except to save a few bucks. It's not that much smaller than the 275 and it has a shorter range.The 275 is great. The battery will last a few days if you're not transmitting and just monitoring Ch 16. Unfortunately mine didn't come with a DC charging cable so I can only charge it on 120 volts AC at home. I think you can get a DC charging cable for it, but even though it's advertised as coming with a DC charging cable, at least mine did not.The range on the 275 is great. The longest I have transmitted is about 50 miles to the CG station when fishing offshore when I lost power in an emergency--obviously this was only possible because the CG has some high elevation towers, but the transmission strength with the "Boost" transmission function is more than adequate for long distance. For normal, boat-to-boat communications, given the curvature of the earth, the range is more like 5-10 miles or so.

Usually buy ICOM's, but needed one now and this fit the bill. I like that it is floating in case of overboard fall. Screen is very readable even in direct sunlight. Nice loud speaker and easy to grip. High, medium and low power ranges. Only charges in special charging station, but station can also screw to a wall to save desk space. Bought to use in my skiff and am quite happy with it. Waterproof to 3 feet for 1/2 hour if attached to something that sinks it. Price was almost half of my usual brand and it seems to work just as well. Time will tell, but I think I'm going to be quite happy with this one. I like the high wattage capability.

Radio seems to work well, and holds a charge for quite a while. Gave 4 stars because the “multi purpose “ buttons are kind of confusing. They could have added a couple more buttons and made it much more user friendly.

Great for use around a boat club or just having it in case a radio goes out on the lake and is slam packed with features the sound quality is amazing. Battery charges quick very light weight and easy to use overall price to performance you can't beat it

Easy to use with a pretty good instruction manual. I really enjoy the tri channel feature, it lets me liaten to channel 9, 16 and any other channel I choose at the same time. Battery seems to last forever, easily enoigh for a few days without a charge.
