There is a little learning curve when you don't know much about the NANO VNA, but there are many videos on youtube on how to set it up and use it. I love it myself. I use it mainly for testing antenna's and cables. I should come with additional male to female ends so as not to whare out or mess up by cross threading ends. If you mess the threads up on the VNA, it's unusable. Other than that, I'm sure it's not as accurate as a $1,000 machine, but it is close enough to get you in the ballpark.

I know for a fact that i am not utilizing the full potential of this device but I am testing every conceivable thing i can for possible antenna use. :)

Use YouTube for instructions how to do various measurements with these instruments. Also, you will probably need additional connectors/adapters depending on what you are measuring.

Bought this to have an inexpensive swr meter for parks on the air. Works well once you set it up and remember how to use it. I find it a great tool in setting up my antennas for POTA ops.

I wanted a VNA to test resonant frequencies for SDR radio antennas. I'm on a budget and $4k is a little out of my league for a piece of test gear. These VNA's aren't perfect, but they do pretty well when stacked up against the Professional Test Bench Gear. And let's face it, trying to calculate impedance by hand is damn near impossible, so close is good enough for receivers that I work with. Also works well as a signal generator for analog radios. Who knew? I ran tests with commercial antennas and found that this VNA was pretty darn accurate vs the specs that came with the antenna. BE ADVISED - there is a steep learning curve for this device. Several times I used the formula to calculate resonance and the VNA said I was off by 50 MHz. I was sure it was wrong, but I decided to measure the coupler along with the antenna length and I got the same results as the VNA. Each time I thought it was wrong, I eventually found that it was right, and I had not taken into consideration something I should have.
