Excellent product and excellent customer careThis is the third time-clock I own and by far the best of all. It is a very easy 15 min set-up process. I love the fact you can set up a reminder alarm for those who forgot to clock in. It is also very nice because it calculates the total number of hours at the end of each day and by pressing 2 buttons you can do the total of the hours worked in a pay period. I did not fully set up the clock and it did not add the hours for me. I e-mailed the u-punch customer care and I got a response in 24hours and they explained to me what I was supposed to do to take advantage of the clock abilities. Highly recommended product.

We have been using this time lock for over a year at our landscaping company. Mounted in an unheated garage. Dusty, 100 degrees in Summer, down to 5 degrees in Winter. No issues and keeps good time. Setup was fairly simple. Adjustments to settings are straightforward. I had to call customer support when I couldn't get it to calculate hours worked and they walked me through with no issue. Our employees are on the road after initial punch in and don't punch out for lunch. We use the 1st IN button and the last OUT button to get it to calculate daily hours. Lunch time is paid time so that works fine for us. My only complaint is the timecard rack. If the cards get wrinkled or slightly folded they hang up when inserting back in the rack. Need to pay attention to making sure the cards stay flat all month long.

Used this at work for 5+ years. It didn't recognize the cards very well. It was a huge pain to adjust for things like daylight savings time. Changing settings is unreal.The worst thing is that it couldn't keep time. It's really the most important thing a clock should do...but this ting was terrible. It would loose a minute or so every few days. Doesn't sound like a lot, but employees notice when the time clock is different from the real time by 10 or 15 min. So if you like explaining to people that the slightly slow clock isn't affecting thier take him pay, this is your timeclock. No amount of explaining can get some people to believe that their pay is right. Having the time wrong all the time was the most annoying thing.This thing was just a huge pain in my butt for so long. I can't believe I didn't trash it years ago.

Great time clock for medium to small business users. I mean the setup was pretty easy and it has 2 different manuals to really guide you through the steps.The online time sheet manager that they have is pretty much pointless because there is no way to sync the two it's just kind of there if you want to use a software or the actual real time clock go keep track of your employees.I mean overall it's a great looking time clock, and I really like the design of the timesheets themselves. Very detailed yet very easy to read.In terms of the hardware itself I mean it seems like it's doing an outstanding job of keeping a track of all my employees, their breaks and Lunches, overtones and so on. Would definitely recommend it to someone who's tired of keeping track and manually keeping track of the hours. This will make your life and your employees work life much easier :)

I was happy initially upon receipt of the uPunch 4000. I found it easy to program although the instructions are written poorly. I was extremely excited to use the pay period feature which would total the hours for each employee at the end of the pay period. However, when I read the instructions I thought I must be misunderstanding them. I called support, which answered right away and was extremely knowledgable and helpful. It turned out I was reading it correctly. If you pay employees weekly, you can only use the first 7 lines (out of 31) of the card and then it is useless. If you pay employees Biweekly you can only use the first 14 lines. In an age when companies are clamoring to go green in every way possible uPunch has managed to create an extremely wasteful situation in order to make as much money from the customer on the purchase of time cards after the initial purchase of the clock. The answer I was given by support was that the cards only cost about 30 cents a piece so it's not a big deal. It's a big deal to me, and the only way around it is to set the machine to a monthly pay period and tally the payroll myself every 2 weeks. This negates some of the best functions of the machine, and I will have to weigh my time vs. the cost of timecards and going green as I move forward. It's still an upgrade from my last machine but I would have been happier if they charged more up front and made the full cards usable by the machine.

Hate hand written time sheets, so know there will be no question about employees in or out. I recommend this even if you have a few employees. No questioning about time arrival or departure.

This is my second Upunch time clock. This model is great and the total time calculation makes it simple for my accountant.

Works well but the time rounding function doesn't have enough choice to round up or back the way I wanted it to. Has built in alarm for breaks which is helpful
