Bought these for my mother who has hip problems because these are designed for physical therapy and, although my Mom isn't overweight, are rated for 200 lbs per pole. These are adjusted via spring loaded pegs that fit into the selected hole. This is a much stronger and reliable way of adjustment than the walking poles that I use which rely on twisting, and occasionally loosen and telescope. I have to check these constantly which isn't something my mother is going to remember to do.These poles are specifically made to bear weight and won't collapse. On the package of my hiking poles it specifically says they aren't for use as canes.

I have not used these as I had hoped I would, but I haven't been walking as much either. These poles are well made, very sturdy and light weight. They are easy to use and I did find that when I was walking and used these that my knees and back did not hurt near as much as they had done in the past. I didn't even wear a compression sleeve on my knee. I did need to wear gloves when I used these, but that's because it was darn hot and my hands were sweating a lot and I was having trouble gripping the poles. Not the poles fault, it was just in the high 80's with high humidity. These are a basic walking pole for balance and stability, they are not Alpine walking poles. There are not a lot of videos of Activators on line, mainly Alpine, but view some of the on line information to make sure that you are getting what you want. There is a difference. One big thing is these have no straps, mainly because of stress on the wrists. When I do get out and walk, I use these and it makes a big difference in how far and long I can go and how I feel afterwards.

I selected these poles for my husband who has some serious balance problems since his stroke. They work well for him because he is able to feel more secure while walking and they help him stay upright (unlike a "walker" which would require him to bend over) these are height-adjustable and easy to manage. They are very lightweight and seem quite sturdy; the large "feet" provide a reasonable platform to help with walking balance. Recommended!

I like the comfort of the hand grips and the stability of the large bottom pad. They are easy to adjust down but are too long to fit into the majority of luggage even while advertised as traveling. They made it possible for me to walk on uneven cobbles, up stairs and steep slopes while enjoying cruise excursions. However the omission of straps made it awkward to not hold them while taking pictures. The Velcro binding and the clip make it possible to join the two into a stable unit and use as one pole. I appreciate the sturdy feel but wish they were packable. It's difficult to negotiate airports while dragging luggage and carrying the poles. The were recommended to me by my balance/mobility therapist and I practiced with them prior to purchase.

I used to own a cheaper set of walking sticks from another brand that proved to be flimsy. So after doing some research, I purchased the Activator Nordic Walking Sticks in 2022. I bought them as an investment in myself. I have osteoarthritis in my right hip, knee and lower back and prior to my diagnosis always enjoyed walking and going on hiking trails. I wanted to continue being active without putting a lot of weight and pressure on my joints. These walking sticks have helped me achieve that goal and they are sturdy and so well made that the rubber tips have not worn down too much with constant use. Purchasing these have been well worth it!

Bought these for a person to try instead of a traditional cane. The handles are the best part of the poles. Very comfortable. Good product.

My physical therapist told me that these where the best for seniors with issues walking. Unlike many of the others these are designed for physical therapy. They are so easy to adjust. Just push the button and slide to the next hole. Each pole has numbers to make sure you get theight to match. There is Left Pole and Right Pole and each is marked. The tip on the poles are wider and feel more stable. We have used two other hiking poles and I can honestly say these are far superior for people with mobility issues.

Ordered for my husband for his unsteady stride. We took it to his PT to see if it was a good walking stick and worth trying. He started practicing with PT's help and immediately we noticed he could walk standing upright and no bending over. It is a little tricky to coordinate but with practice he will be able to hold himself upright and walk with confidence. In one day we saw marked improvement so on a daily basis he should do better. We think and medical advice is positive and worth the money.

I have Parkinsons disease with balance problems. These poles have given me confidence to walk further and with better pace. The handles are a great design feature, ensuring that there is no muscle tension in hand, arm orshoulder. The ferrule on the bottom ensures a firm plant of the pole.Adjustment of lengthstraightforward. Arrived very quickly.Worth every penny!

I recently found out I need both my hips replaced. We had booked a trip to Germany and I needed something which could help with the walking I would have to do. My cane was not going to do it. These poles allowed me to enjoy Germany for 2 weeks. I found them true to their listed benefits - reduce pressure on hips and knees and stopped my "waddling" so I was more stable. Due to my improved posture and hence movement, I was able to walk longer and further, though breaks were a necessity. I recommend what the retailer suggests - build up your use and do not lean on the handles as if they are crutches. Leaning will put too much pressure on your shoulders, back and arms. I also love they can be adjusted to accommodate different heights (I am 5 ft 3 inches) and can be reduced to fit easily in about half the overhead compartment of a plane. The only drawback is that it is hard to carry anything in your hands so a backpack is the best for a purse, briefcase or luggage. I have dumped the cane and will use the poles for now on.

I have only used these poles for a short while, but can feel they are keeping my body in a better alignment than the single walking stick I'm used to. My GP suggested they would probably be better than a stick and I think time will prove her to be correct. Well made and fast delivery.

These poles are excellent quality. I am using them for walking stability after having a knee replacement. They have allowed me to walk farther and with a proper gait.
