As noted by a prior reviewer, this does not come with any cables. Originally the description said that it does, but that has now been changed (the line he quoted has been removed and another line added to the top mentioning no USB 3 cables). I've still knocked off a star for that - it's a sketchy thing. This does require 2x USB-A to USB-A cables. These are not normal. You'll probably have to buy these separately since you almost certainly won't have them laying around. You're more likely to have a device with a USB-A end or a USB-A to USB-B cable (the square printer/hub type), or more recently USB-A to USB-C for phone chargers and such. I've only ever seen USB-A/A cables in the wild with things like laptop cooling pads and such - they're quite rare. You can get by using a USB-A/C cable with a C-to-A adapter on the end. Or you can get some USB-A/A cables separately. This will add another five bucks to the actual usable cost for this device, so be sure you compare it with others - you may find another that really does come with the cables for about the same. This does support using hubs on the input side, which is nice.Essentially what this does is give you a button for your input USB port. Press the button and it switches which output device has the USB active.I got this so I could switch mouse/keyboard between two physical computers without having to remove/reconnect them. The mouse/keyboard are plugged into a hub built into my monitor, and the USB cable from that is plugged into the input for this device. With some USB-A cables (which I had to locate separately) I then went from the outputs on this device to the destination computers. Both recognize having the mouse/keyboard, but it only works in one at a time (press the button to switch - there's about a second of lag between the switch). It's working perfectly, just the way I was hoping. There is a light under the number of the active output, so it's easy to tell. This device also doesn't require any external power, which is very nice. As mentioned by others, it's also solid metal and doesn't get hot.In short:This is great for switching USB between two computers, just be sure you have 2x USB-A cables or order them separately.

This bi-directional USB switch is a game-changer for my home office setup! It effortlessly lets me share my keyboard, mouse, and printer between two computers without constantly swapping cables. The USB 3.0 speeds are impressive, with no lag or connectivity issues, and setup was completely plug-and-play—no drivers or hassle. The LED indicator is a nice touch, making it easy to see which device is active. Plus, the sturdy aluminum build feels premium and durable. If you need an easy way to switch USB devices between computers, this is a must-have!

I needed 2 inputs and 1 output. 1st input was charging current to the 1 output of my phone. 2nd input was a TV dongle to my 1 output of my phone. Only the 2nd input of the TV dongle went to my phone. When I pushed the item's button to switch it to the charger, it would go to the output of my phone and didn't charge it.

This incredibly simple device is perfect for sharing mice, printers, etc. No software drivers. Works right out of the box. It's small and feels pretty solid in the hand. I own 2 macs and use one mouse thanks to this switcher. The big downside is that you have to buy special USB Male-to-Male cables, which aren't very common yet can be found on Amazon for around $10. But it's be nice if it came with cables or an adapter(s) for common USB cables.

This little USB switch is a lifesaver for swapping between two computers without constantly unplugging cables. Works great for sharing a keyboard, or mouse, especially between work/ gaming - just press the button, and you’re switched over. No lag, no hassle. The aluminum build gives it a sturdy feel, and setup was completely plug-and-play on Windows. Just keep in mind it doesn’t come with USB cables, so you’ll need to have your own. Overall, a handy little gadget that makes life easier - definitely worth it!

This USB splitter is perfect for my office setup, allowing me to use a single non-networkable printer with two computers seamlessly. It switches between devices without any issues and works exactly as expected. Build quality is solid, and for the price, it’s a great value. Highly recommended for similar setups. No speed drop or connection issues so far.Happy to recommend

This bi-directional switch has a very a sturdy build as is has a tough aluminium shell and even the sides have a metal panel. It's nice and small and fits nicely into the palm of my hand. I think it looks quite nice as well as they have curved the sides down and put a nice silver bezel around the edge. It's a nice simple device which allows you to share peripherals between two machines, via this USB switch. It's bi-directional as well so you can also get two machines to share one device, simply by pressing the button to switch from one machine to the other, or from one peripheral to the other. The reason why I have only given this 4 stars is because I feel at the price it's at, they should have upgraded it to support the latest USB protocol which is version 4, or at least support the one before that, which is version USB 3.2. Plus there is a big jump in throughput between version 3.0 and 3.2. Version 3.0 only supports a throughput of 5Gbps, whereas version 3.2 has a throughput of 10Gbps, and in both directions giving you a total of 20Gbps.Anyway 5Gbps is enough for what I want to achieve but hopefully you can see my reasoning for not giving it the full 5 stars. However, I think the important thing to note here though is that it is a bi-directional switch, and not all USB switches are, so you may be paying more than you had expected because of this feature, but it's definitely one that is worth having as it makes this switch much more versatile in it's application.
