I initially tried making my own cable, but it wouldn’t work, so I decided to buy this one—and I’m glad I did! It worked immediately to reset the password on my PDU with no issues at all. This serial cable worked perfectly for my APC AP8941 PDU. It was plug and play. No drivers, just open putty, select serial and enter the COM port and I was in. Too easy and highly recommended!

I used this to update the firmware on my LIFEPO4 battery. It work with no issues. I have only used it twice so not sure on longevity yet.

Cable connected up to device and I was able to access console port without any issues. was a life saver for accessing an older device that we didn't have console cable for.

I remember back in the day, if you needed a specialized cable to help interface with a networking device that you had to build one from scratch and it was using a RS232 pinout to connect you cable and use that interface. Now, you have the interface end and USB. All you have to do is plug it in, install the driver, and go. No more having to make cables. This cable came in clutch when needing to configure a certain electronic device to be able to configure it. So if you are looking for this type of cable don't worry it will work... just install the drivers and go.
