I used this on an ASRock N100DC-ITX motherboard. It identifies as a FTDI device and works perfectly with Android.

I have older oscilloscope and power supply that do not have USB but only serial comms. This cable works for both and will use it for measurement automation. I use Python. You can see my simple code to talk to a TEK TPS2024.

I am positive I have a DB9 male port on one side and USB type C on the other yet nothing I plug this cable into works ! Not simply a lack of communication but a complete lack of anything .No power , no comm , nothing !Another item getting returned .They warn people with "frequently returned item" yet why do they keep selling it ?

I am reviewing the product "OIKWAN USB C to Serial Adapter Cable " on 4 May, 2024.Bridging the gap between vintage and modern electronics, USB-serial adapter cables are a frequently needed IT Supply for those still rocking vintage equipment. In my case, I have a number of analog video closed-caption decoders that output decoded text over serial port, which I wanted to incorporate in my home studio. This model offers two features that make it stand out.First is the use of the FTDI-FT232RL chipset, widely regarded as the finest implementation of this type of conversion available. This ensures the widest compatibility with a huge variety of old gear that communicates over a serial port. Second, is the USB interface is a type-C, at the time of this writing is still a relatively rare feature in a serial adapter cable. USB-C is faster and more robust, and is likely to eventually overtake mini/micro-B in ubiquity. So in a sense this adapter cable is a nod towards future-proofing.In my case, the decoders interfaced perfectly with a USB-C equipped PC and the capture was flawless.The Oikwan model is a good value for an essential item pairing a modern interface and a class-leading chipset. I am pleased to give it my unreserved recommendation.

Used with a standalone set of Logitech G29 pedals and they didn't work. Another brand's adapter did, however.
