I used this to repair the edge banding of a sliding keyboard shelf on my computer desk. The rest of the furniture is fine, just this one area was chipping off and showing a lot of unsightly wear and tear, so chose to repair rather than replace. To prep I scraped off the old banding and glue, and then sanded with a 60 grit sandpaper, and finally cleaned with alcohol. Unlike traditional edge banding, which uses something like an iron to melt the glue, this product uses a peel and stick adhesive. Which makes sense, as I'm thinking a hot iron would do some unfortunate things to this TPU material. The adhesive seems strong, but after only a week it is too early to make predictions on durability.I've uploaded a pic showing a cross section of the product. As you can see, there are two little lips that cup the edges of the panel. These lips do not have adhesive, that is only in the trough. So you need to measure the thickness of the panel you are applying this to and it needs to fit one of the available sizes. Unlike traditional banding, you don't trim the excess off to get a flush surface. In my case, the shelf I used this on was a hair over 1", possibly because it had a laminate on one side. This resulted in the lip on the bottom not completely cupping the edge of the panel, though no one will notice this but me.On the whole I am happy with the results. I can think of some cases where this might not be the best material to use though. TPU has a lot of drag (I'm sure there is a more technical term), and there is that little lip sticking up, so if you are putting this on something where you are sliding things on and off, that is probably not going to be ideal. On the other hand, the material has a small cushioning effect, so would be a good choice for a shelf that is liable to get bumped into.

I recently used this U-Shape Edge Banding to restore the edges of my workshop shelves, and I’m really impressed with the results. The material feels high-quality, flexible, and much more durable than traditional options. Installation was incredibly easy—just measure, cut, peel, and stick—no extra glue or tools required. The adhesive is strong, holding up well on my wooden shelves without peeling or shifting, even with frequent use. I love how it gives my workspace a clean, polished look while also protecting the edges from wear and minor impacts. I also tested it on a metal surface, and it adhered just as well, making it a versatile option for different materials. With its durability and ease of use, I’ll definitely be using this for other workshop projects. It has made my shelves look new again while reinforcing their edges for long-term use. If you need a simple, effective way to refresh and protect your workspace, this edge banding is a great choice!

I was trying to tidy up the finishing on some work that had a lot of cable and fitting protrusions. I used this to make grommets that cleaned up the holes very nicely. The curvature of the hole forced the banding towards the wood enhancing the adhesion of the glue and the overall appearance.

This banding is quality made easy to cut with strong adhesive backing. I'm currently renovating my bathroom closet that has 3/4" plywood painted shelves. I installed 1.5mm waterproof vinyl plank flooring on the shelves then installed this banding to cover the edge for an improved appearance. Highly recommended.

Needed to cover up the edge of a plywood top for a table - the edge was getting caught on things. This edging was surprisingly easy to apply (make sure you clean the edge of the wood thoroughly to remove any dust or loose wood fibers first). For some reason, the corner edges do not seem to want to stick well. I ended up adding a dab of gorilla glue on it to get it to stick (used painters tape to hold it in place while it dried). Other than that, no issues whatsoever.

Banding looks good. Easy installation. I will update this review if it turns out that the adhesive does not stay stuck.

I like that it's easy to use. The self adhesive seems to hold strong on first application. Great product to finish shelves on my project.
