I needed this to adapt a electronic edge finder on my mill without removing and installing a r8 adaptor. Allows me to use the same size end mill.

The runout on it is not bad. The edges were polished to the point that they are slightly rounded off. The retension spring is unable to hold the collet in the cap. The collet gets stuck in the body of the chuck and has to be pried out.

Run-out at collet edge is over 0.005", and 2" away, it is 0.012". I was planning to use it to hold an electronic edge finder, but it is unusable for that purpose (or any purpose on a mill really). Looking at it a bit more closely, I note an 1/2"x ~100 degrees area of quite rough interior surface, about 1/4" from the edge. There's also an aborted slot cut on the back end.Sheesh!
