I only had about 20% of the inside of the race supported, It concaved the bearing cage and exploded the race into three pieces. They definitely are hardened washers from the way the one shattered. Properly supported the second one works fine.

Using this under the tool post on my metal lathe. So far, provides a smooth, tight fit under the post without the friction that used to make it more difficult to tighten it down. If it lasts, it'll be a very welcome addition to my shop.

has only 2 washers so that 1 side of bearing is directly against your piece. not compatible for an aluminum/aluminum interface.

What can you say about a set of thrust needle roller bearings?I used these to replace some 'caged' bearings on a headset press that I use in my shop. The original caged bearings kept falling out and would not stay in their cage, so I got these to replace them. The needle rollers stay put and do the job needed to take the pressure off of the pressing cups.
