I could have gotten it cheaper.. not counting the cost of gas. elsewhere. but it was still a decent value.And it held exactly 1 gallon...The use: I purchased a Ham Radio "Cantenna" knock off dummy load. This is a resistor in a one gallon paint can full of Transformer oil.. NOT SURE hower what kind of oil (one kind is Haz-mat) The original can is now packaged for delivery to Haz-mat disposal. the parts and lid were steam cleaned and transferred to the new can (Fit perfectly thank you) and the new lid, labled and applied to the old can (Also fit perfectly)That.. was the only worry (Will the lids swap) they did.

My wife had a lot of left over paint which we kept around for touch ups. In one case it was almost a whole can of paint. Unfortunately the original can had been opened and closed the wrong way (bent lips) and lots of paint had been left in the grooves, and as a result the lid was not closing tightly. Add to that, the can was stored in our garage and had been exposed to hot, cold and humid air for a number of years. The result was a rusty can that could not be closed well with a lot of expensive paint, nearly a whole gallon, that could still be used. So rather than pour it into glass jars and risk dropping one and a big mess, I bought this metal can and poured the paint into it and sealed it properly (using a rubber mallet, not the sledge hammer my wife had used, ha!). It is stored in an indoor utility cabinet now to minimize the risk of rust in the future.

Can were as expected . All were in good condition except one was dented.

One of the paint cans I had rusted over time. This works well for the paint I transferred into it. It is convenient because usually replacing the paint at the store results in a darker or lighter shade no matter how hard one tries. I am able to preserve the paint I have left over.
