This tool is a must-have for anyone tackling engine repairs, particularly for overhead valve (OHV) and overhead cam (OHC) engines. I’ve used this tool on several car projects, and I’m genuinely impressed by its build quality and versatility.First off, the construction is solid, made with durable materials that feel robust enough to handle the pressure of valve spring removal without any concerns of bending or breaking. The tool is well-designed, with adjustable arms that fit a wide range of engines, making it a great universal tool for various vehicles. It can be easily used on both overhead valve and overhead cam engines, which adds a layer of flexibility for different engine types. The **Valve Stem Tool** and **Valve Keeper Remover and Installer** functions work exceptionally well, ensuring that valve springs are compressed safely and efficiently, making the valve keeper removal process smooth and stress-free. The Valve Holder Tool does its job perfectly, keeping everything in place while you remove or install the valve springs.I also appreciate how easy it is to set up and use. The instructions provided are clear enough, though you may need a bit of practice to get the hang of the best angles and pressure for specific engine configurations. Once you get the hang of it, this tool makes tasks like valve spring replacement much quicker and safer. The only downside I’ve noticed is that it can be a bit bulky for very tight engine spaces, but this is a common issue with most universal tools. In general, though, this tool is incredibly functional and provides great value for anyone working with engine valve components.Overall, I highly recommend the Valve Spring Compressor Universal Tool to anyone who works on engines. Whether you're a professional mechanic or a DIY enthusiast, this tool will save you time, money, and frustration in the long run.

I've had a valve spring break twice in a row and prior to this tool I was using half of a washer welded to an awl to put enough pressure on the valve spring to get the keepers out and replace the spring. This tool made that substantially easier. Get the rig setup, pump air into the cylinder, push the valve down, keepers out and do the same in reverse. I cannot express how much of a nightmare trying to do that with one hand on a hand tool to compress the spring is.Overall quality is decent, but not amazing. Given how cheap this tool is compared to other offerings that's perfectly acceptable. Nothing feels like it's going to break on me or fail, but it is definitely not the highest quality out there.Very happy with it overall. It's good to have a substantially more affordable option out there and the tradeoff is definitely worth it.

The kit came in a blow mold case. The case is nice but it is a plastic flex hinge vs. a pinned hinge so it will eventually fatigue and the lid will sperate with use and time. That aside it is a pretty complete kit for servicing vale springs and stem seals while the head is still installed on the engine and in the vehicle. It offers connectors to put air pressure in the cylinders to keep the valves closed while you service them. I would recommend a compression test first, to make sure you don't have burnt or bent valve issues nor dropped seats, etc. that don't allow proper sealing. Without properly sealed valves, too much pressure will escape and you will "lose" the valve down into the cylinder when you remove the keepers. This kit also offers a prying bridge and gives you a proper place to leverage against without marring or damaging the head. I have seen guys pry against parts of the head that weren't meant for it and cause damage.I would put the fit & finish on par with HF tools but it is a comprehensive kit to get the job done.

Great gift for the mechanic in the family! I got this as a gift for my nephew, who is going to school to be a mechanic. He was really excited to get this tool set to add to his collection.

This is a comprehensive set! It has a lot of variety and options for setting it up to work on a wide range of engines - great value, Nice size densly packaged for easy storage, Heavy, solid, durable pieces. If it's not clear how to setup - start from the valve and work backwards - valve pusher, handle pivot bar, and you'll see how you need to place the brackets... With the air hose in the sparkplug hole at top dead center the valve stays close while you pop the retainers to change springs andor seals.

I was really just looking to add the pliers to my tool inventory, but ran across this set and get so much more for the price. This has everything you need for overhead valve work. Everything looks to be very good quality and it is great having everything set out in the molded case. This will be a huge time saver. I really like this set.

Got this for my small block Chevy and no longer need to go to the auto store to rent a danger compressor I actually own it. I’m not sure what other applications it fits but it comes with plenty of adjustment on the brackets so I’m sure there’s a lot of engines this can be used on. Comes with air hose adapters so you don’t drop a valve. This thing is well worth it

This set has everything needed to disassemble the valvetrain on a cylinder head. The wide assortment of tools and sizes makes this work for any engine I've had to work with so far. The tools are very durable and the finish is smooth and tough. The grips are comfortable and the storage case is robust. I'm very happy to have this set and any mechanic should have this. I highly recommend it.
