How to Set Up the Starter Violin?

A new rosin can be scraped with a hard object to help it easier to attach to the bow. Rub the bow head first, then rub it down to the end of the instrument to ensure the same thickness.

Note: The bow hairs need to be loosened after each performance, and tightened gently when practicing again.

For some strange reason, the violin I ordered came with missing items and broke strings. I never owned a violin in my life, but even my 9-year-old daughter can tell something ain't right. i look for tutorial after tutorial on how to fix it so she can play Big Waste

I got this violin for my daughter who recently got interested in music. I don't play violin, but I've been around guitars for ages, and I must say that for the price, the quality of this instrument is superb!The paint is beautiful, the finish is perfect with only one tiny blemish on the back. Everything looks great! It's easy to spot that this really isn't a very expensive violin, but it makes an amazingly good impression.The violin comes with a well made and well padded case, two sets of strings (one partially installed, another in the box), two bridges, a shoulder rest, a bow and some rosin and a digital tuner. The instrument requires a little bit of set up that is very well detailed in a manual included in the package. If the violin teacher offers to set it up then I'd take them on the that, but even doing it at home without any experience shouldn't be an issue. The instructions are simple to follow and there isn't really much to do.I don't have enough experience to comment or compare the sound quality of this violin to other ones, but it tuned easily and the sound is ... just like you imagine a beginner student playing a violin sounds!To be honest, this far exceeded my expectations. Great value for the money!
