We are putting in a used brick terrace and have found many of our bricks on Craigslist. The price is certainly helpful but many of the bricks still have old mortar stuck to them. This cold chisel is just the thing to remove the old mortar and return the bricks to a useful condition. The terrace is really looking just as we hoped. The old bricks fit in with the 100 year+ old house with their variations in shade and wear. Good tools make such a difference in how well a job goes.

However hefty you think this thing is, it's heftier than that.I have now bought two of these- one for work, and one for my garage- because it's a brilliant tool for chipping spatter off while welding. It's so heavy, and the grip is so well affixed, that a casual swipe takes off most spatter in a single pass. 'Overbuilt' doesn't do it justice. I cannot recommend highly enough. 11/10 for that application. The steel is soft enough it needs resharpening every two weeks or so, but that's 90 seconds of work.No idea how it does in masonry work, but I figure it's probably good for that, too.
