Size and photos are accurate. The material is opaque, thick and stiff card stock (mine is brown). The string is not attached, but is twisted around one of the matching "buttons". The "buttons" the string wraps around are made from the same material as the envelope. They seem to be strongly attached and the string provided is long enough to twist around them both for secure closure. The envelope is not a box-bottom or accordian-pleat expanding file. The front and back attach directly to each other with a flap over the top. The size is big enough that I can easily put 20 or more letter-size papers in it, plus a small binder clip and a couple of envelopes. I'm very happy I did not need to spend $13.00 for a single pocket file. I would avoid getting this wet. There is no water resistant coating that I can see. A few rain drops would probably be fine though. All in all, I'm very happy and will no doubt order this same product again when I use up these.

They are really nice and very well made but not exactly what I was looking for, These are good if you wanted to hand out certificates in a crafty gift envelope or something like that. Really nice for that. What *I* was hoping for was something close to old school manila storage envelopes that had a string on them, because I cant find those anywhere. Like, if you had an inch thick stack of papers that you wanted to store but didnt want brass tabs because those suck and eventually break. I'm talking about the stuff your grandfather used to have. Thats what I want. Im keeping them because I can use them for other things.

Not exactly what I had in mind. But they are nice and I’m sure we’ll find a use for them. I was looking for a folded letter envelope/pouch. These fit a flat 8.5 X 11†sheet. The description could be clearer , and I should have read more carefully.

Only gripe is that there is a dimple impression from binding button. I would assume this could me prevented with better packaging from the manufacture. Otherwise it’s very fine product.

These are solid craft style, thick envelopes. I was looking for something similar to kind of an interoffice string envelope and a cardboard mailer and these fit the bill.Thick but not too thick. I'd say they're good to store 5-10 sheets of letter sized paper. You could fit up to 30 but it'd be tough to get in and out.I wouldn't recommend these for office use, but for crafts or creative projects, they're a winner.

Pretty nice paper but poor design and/or packaging. As other reviews noted, the center front of each envelope is marred by a circular bump caused by the grommet holding the paper button at the back pressing through.

I bought these to hold individual legal documents. They’re nice and thick, sturdy, and the flap folds over easily with a string closure.

I’m very happy with the sturdy card stock envelopes. My use will be storing receipts for taxes and such.Nice size and decent quality reusable envelopes.

The only disappointment was that there was a brown press mark from where the folders had been packed on each folder but it didn’t matter to me as I was placing a label onto them
