I have been using coolant Refractometer devices for decades of different brands. This is the easiest to read of any I've used. That is the hardest thing about reading the level of concentration, how clear the unit reads your concentration.

Heavy well built with glass optics. The cheap refractometers are not durable. Having them break in the middle of crush while in the field creates more costs than the savings. Worth the extra cash to get a quality instrument.

There is next to no difference between the blue and white background, and no distinct line between them, so it's impossible to get an exact reading. The calibration adjustment collar is next to impossible to turn even with the set screw backed out. It has a nice heavy metal feel to it though. It's just too bad it doesn't work.

Very good meter for showing us are sugar water ratio which in turn will use all of your Acacian schedule on our desert vineyard

This is an excellent refractometer. DON'T cheap out. Buy this one fair price for a quality product. Metal construction and feels nice in the hands. My only wish would be to have a hard case instead of the soft case.The last one I bought was 1/4 of the price but I could not get it to calibrate and it was made of plastic.
