I think this stand is a fantastic value. It does everything I need it to do, is very sturdy, easy to assemble, and quite portable when you don’t want one of those bad looking wire stands and you need something for outdoor gigs especially. I am a full-time professional musician and appreciate paying $43 to the door instead of well over 100 for one of the name brand stands. At first I bought the one with holes in it, but the solid looking desk looks a lot better and is only minimally heavier. Not really saving anything there weight wise. The two spring clips work great for a little bit of extra grip on your music sheets. I use it in combination with some long clear clips when I am in windy situation. These spring clips actually pull out very easily so make sure you don’t lose them! My first use with the stand, I almost lost it. I went back to where I assembled the stand and found the clip but it was just laying on the ground. I expect this stand to last many years!

I'm somewhat tall (6'2") so I needed a stand that was taller than normal. So this matches my height needs. But I really like the little things. The adjustability is great - I can pretty much set it to any height I need (like sitting down instead of standing. The holder holds my music (or tablet) with ease. And the hold downs are helpful for those windy days doing outside concerts. You can also rotate the music without having to adjust the height every time. The fit and finish is top notch. But the bag, and I know this sounds trivial, but the bag is not your normal (holds the item exactly how it was packed at the factory and no other way) bag. It holds the disassembled stand and then some. I don't have to fight to get the stand into the bag - it goes in with room to spare (like a stand light) and because the straps go all the way around the bag, I don't have to worry about the seams failing and it all comes crashing down. Double zippers. Again, the little things

you get what you pay for and I absolutely love this stand. it's durable (enough to withstand the abuse of a pre-teen boy), easy to assemble, and easy to transport (imagine carrying a stand, music bag, and instrument at same time). my kid is in the youth symphony and constantly traveling with his stand. in this instance, durability is super important. also easy to store away at home. the wire frame alternatives are cheaper but bend and break easily. the non-collapsable alternatives take up a lot of space.

Rather than an additional sleeve and tensioner, the additional height on the tall model is an extension of the top tube that screws into it. This adds a step for portability, and means you can’t go from max height to minimum height without disassembly, but it may be more durable in the long run if you don’t need portability or constant extremes in adjustability. It may even be taller than the advertised height. I like that the adjustable posts have “max height†lines to help you avoid pulling it apart while adjusting.I generally don’t like two-piece top holder design, but it feels reasonably sturdy put together. The top half of the holder is certainly more flexible than the lower half and more flexible than I’d like. You can likely get a substantial quality increase by purchasing a stand just $10-20 more.

This is a very sturdy stand. It has sheet holders and is very adjustable. I bought this to replace flimsy stands that kept breaking.

I was surprised to see how well its made. Not built for constant use, plastic joints are thick but not indestructible. Does fold up into a nice compact unit with decent bag to carry it. Good value for the money.
