So this pump achieves strong vacuum really fast and seems to hold as long as I need it to. No leaks, no oil mist or fumes. A lot quieter than pumps of similar power. At this price point I did not expect the value I received. I've only used it 3 times and will update my review after some more use.

This pump worked perfectly! I was able to perform a good vacuum on my car AC system and completed the job myself which saved me over $900!!

Very impressive unit, pulled a vacuum on my a/c system way faster than my Snap On pump. Noise level was a little higher than other units I have used. I would buy again

I purchased this vacuum pump about 6 months ago. I used it once, When I went to use it again, the motor would not start up properly. It appeared the bearings on the armature have seized. When I turn it on the motor spins for about 2 seconds then abruptly stops and the thermal protection switch trips shutting off the motor. I have contacted VEVOR over 20 times and all I get from them is the run-around. This pump has a one-year warranty. Last message from VEVOR, they offered me 22 dollars and suggested I take it to a local repair shop. VEVOR customer service is a joke. They delay,delay,delay. Trying to contact them by phone is impossible. Save yourself the aggravation and don't buy anything from these crooks.

I got this item at a discount and I don't regret buying it.The pump, although on the heavy side, works really good and reaches vacuum levels stated however, the gate valve, at least on my, don't close 100% and so allows a bit of air back into the line. "Nothing I can't resolve by closing the manifold valve".I read all the reviews left by previous buyers and, based on mtly experience, I give very little credit to the bad ones. I don't know if the manufacturer corrected the problems or they simply didn't have a clue how to use them.Remember to use vacuum rated hoses and you should be fine.I will definitely recommend this product and I thank you for a great buy.

Operated for over an hour without issue. Motor was only slightly warm, while pump body was hot, but still touchable after an hour, well within expected temperatures. Should easily meet the listed duty cycle."Don't turn it on, take it apart.." - This one (5CFM 1/2HP Dual Stage) is marked as ETL certified, lets see whats in there.Pump Body: Yellow shipping oil was cleaned and removed before filling. Casting and machining quality is typical, and acceptable, definitly built to a cost, but clean enough inside with nothing found loose or out of place.Gas Balast feature - A useful feature missing from similar models when dealing with moisture removal.Inlet and backflow valves included.Electrical safety: This one has features the others leave out to save cost.Overload protection: KUOYUH 88AR 6A Self Resetting - generally keeps the motor from overloading if the pump ever jams up. Saves the motor from burning up long before a 15A circuit breaker would pop.Electronic Centifugal Switch - Renaissance Technology LECS-120P - greatly improves safety around flamable gases with this instead of the typical mechanical switch found inside these motors.200uf Start Capacitor is marked as UL Recognized. Easy enough to access and replace if it ever goes bad.Wide power switch with sleeved connectors. Little safety and assembly details often left out to save a few pennies. 1/2HP listed, but only 4A - Somehow this doesn't add up, but seems typical for motors from China with an overstated HP rating. Certainly remains a motor that will do the job, I generally consider them as half their listed HP as a more likely value. Instead of the "Calculated, peak, ideal, momentary on startup, equivalent, whatever is highest HP" they tend to list on their labels.Overall for the price, the value added features, and certifcations are worth the price. its still a low cost pump from China, but at least they've made it the best it can be.

Unbelievably my new "Vevor 1/2 HP 2 Stage" pulled 10 microns of vacuum directly into my JB model DV-41 vacuum gauge in just a few minutes from cold ...say whaaaaat???? I was shocked. It did the same when I tried again, this time with the gas-ballast open. It does sound different with ballast on so I assume it is working, but I wonder if it really _is_ a 2 stage pump in the normal sense; In any case the performance is so good and it runs so quiet, that I JUST DON'T CARE. The brass mesh filter on top works well and contrary to some other reviews, it does not obstruct flow in noticeable way. The Chinese company which made this pump has been in this business for a VERY long time and this is reflected in the nice build quality. I am SUPER happy with this purchase.

Was surprised how quick it was to vacuum 25ft lines and obviously even more with 15ft lines. Sounds like a nice and smooth pump. I hope reliability will be there long term.

CSA/UL approved, unlike the last Vevor 1-stage pump which I sent back. Overall it oerforms quite well. I just wish the port caps were decent brass caps and not just cheapo plastic. I would've paid the couple of dollars more. However, they aren't broken or stripped yet and they do have rubber seals, so they worked when I vacuumed my new refrigerant tank using a single hose. Better instructions would help too.
