Was tired of strapping my spare down or putting it in the truck. This looked like a great alternative. Piece is well made and has a nice finish that should not rust out for a few years at least. The attachment point is a single bolt into a plate that mounts under the stake pocket. Now I'm sure not all stake pockets are the same size. I inserted the carrier into my pocket and put the attaching plate on the bottom, and it flops around like Kamla on her border policy. I drilled a hole in the stake pocket and then though the carrier with it raised just above level with the bottom of the pocket. Then ran an grade 8 through them both as well as then installing the bottom plate. Solid mounted now and works great!

Cheap part, Does not work with 8x6.5 bolt pattern as advertised. Missing hardware. Only came with 1 wheel stud and very poor instructions. Would not recommend. Going in the trash.

The nuts are a different thread than the supplied carriage bolts. Cross threaded them when attempting to mount the spare to the bracket. Easy fix, but a trip to the hardware store for matching bolts and nuts.

Had this on my flatbed for about 800km holding a tire that weighs no more than 90lbs (i lifted it by hand to put on the mount). Today the tire mount sheared and dragged a flat spot on my brand new spare right before separating and rolling down the road. Please do not use this product and if you do ensure its only holding a small boat trailer tire WILL NOT HOLD EVEN CLOSE TO 160lbs LIKE IT CLAIMS!

The bracket is sturdy but the bolts that came with it are of really poor quality. Also, for an 8 bolt trailer rim, only 2 of the square holes line up with the lug holes

Needs a 4" to 6" deep pocket to attach properly. I had to cut the main body shorter and reweld the nut so i could tighten the mount. The sales information isn't clear. Yes they have carrage bolts with a square head that fit in a slotted hole to attach the spare. But they use an oversized speed nut in an attempt to stop it from turning when you tighten the nut against the rim, it doesn't work!
