This pump was so much cheaper than Hayward, I had to give it a shot.The pump ran flawlessly this summer...if I get 3 years out of it, I'll be satisfied.Seems to run a little hotter, but I am satisfied with the performance.And at 1 1/2 HP, it provides greater flow than the 1 HP pump it replaced.

My mother has an 18 foot oval above ground pool. The pool is maybe 4.5 feet deep. After opening the pool this season, we noticed the factory pump housing was cracked at the debris basket area, and was leaking. It also was held together with a ratchet strap. I was looking for a replacement electric pump that would work. Local pool stores were quoting me 400 to 500 dollars for a replacement. I found this Vevor 1.5 HP pump on Amazon. For the price, I am thoroughly impressed. The build quality on the pump is great. The pump operates with out a hitch and is super quiet to run. This Vevor pump actually works better and is more powerful than the Hayward pump I replaced it with. For approximately 120 dollars, you can’t go wrong!

1) Not so sure about GPM or that HP ratings meaning much. This 1.5HP Pump is only pushing slightly more water than my 1PH unit. (little more water over the waterfall). I was afraid the 2HP would be too much for my Filter... but I suspect it would not. Guess the question might be what this pump cost in electricity to operate over the 1HP it's replacing?2) Got this for the 2 Speed option, during summer really need to almost run 24/7 in Florida for my salt water chlorine generator to keep up. But on the low setting this thing isn't doing much at all. (Water just trickles down the glass of the waterfall.) Will see what I can get by with between running on low vs high.3) Is extremally quite... old one might have been more quite when it was new, but this thing is a huge difference.4) No problem with it priming itself on first go (I did fill the basket with water and let it run back into the pool for a bit). Have and inground pool and this pump is about 30' away from it.5) Instruction are pretty useless.... one LINE IN is on the SWITCH and one LINE IN is one the main motor - both are marked (if you have perfect vision) You will need female spade connectors to make the electrical connection... glad I had some. Old wiring was #12 Solid, I replaced it with some #14 Stranded which made it much easier to work with.6) As someone else stated... it does run hot or at least the pump metal housing gets pretty hot. So I'm glad I paid for the extra warranty.7) In the end a one for one replacement of my existing "quality" pool pump that lasted six years... would have costed about $900. I got this for $173, plus 5% back from using my Amazon Card. I view it as a disposable pump - will likly find out how these Asurion coverage plans work.

Got tired of name brand ones failing so figured I would try this one at fraction of the price and I needed a 220v model. I was pleasantly surprised how quiet it was. I had my pool guy install it and he was surprised too by how quiet it was. Would say it isn't as powerful as previous pump but it is adequate and may actually be better in long run, so it lasts longer. I will update review if it doesn't last long but so far running great after install.

Purchased in March but sadly discovered we had leaks in our liner. Had liner replaced last week, and made sure to clean all lines to ensure no leaves or gunk. Turned on pump... It doesn't work. It turns on for 2 seconds and just shuts off. The pump is EXTREMELY hot. I reached out to Amazon but of course, they only offer a 30 day return window. I see they now put in the listing it says this item is retuned often... I've reached out to Vevor, hopefully they will make this right. This is the last time I'll ever order a pool pump without an extended warranty. Depending on Vevors response, may be the last time my small business purchases their products.

I bought a cheap sand filter years ago from what ended up being a BestWay brand and it was a mistake, everything BUT the pump has failed. My sand filter is held together with hose clamps and JB Weld but the pump always did ok, until late last year it started leaking water and adding air to the outbound jet. I was going to get a new sand filter but honestly with all my repairs the rest works great now, but I needed a better/new pump. Most I saw that had reviews worth considering buying were $190 on up, I had a 1.5 HP pump and Googled the part number which lead me to Amazon and this product. It looked the same, I went with 2 HP and I'm not sure I've ever purchased something that worked so well as I expected. Same exact 4 hole pattern to mount to filter base, same exact size connection from pump to filter and an awesome ABS adapter that was very easy to convert to 1.5" PVC which fit perfectly inside that adapter. I decided to convert all the inlet plastic hoses over to PVC as well and now my above ground pool has the best system yet, and this pump was a lightning deal for $120.It's a tad louder than my last one but it's more powerful and doesn't leak water or air, I actually like that fact so I can tell if it's on or off the other one was too quiet. It is NOT too loud so don't take it as a negative, I freaking love this little pump!!!Oh and the outlet is so powerful it creates little whirlpools now and then.

Bought the Vevor 2.0HP to replace our Hayward pump that died. The Vevor pump had been discounted due to damaged delivery box. Price was perfect. The pump was totally intact without damage. Came with all the attachment pieces. We received the pump 2 days after ordering. Took us 15 minutes to exchange the pumps out. Thrilled we found this pump. Pool looks great. Vevor pump matched the size, suction function and filter of the old Hayward pump.

I replaced a hayward superpump in a hurry this spring. The pump was easy to install and remained water tight the whole summer. Priming may have been sluggish sometimes. filtering a 14 x 28 inground pool with a sand filter.
