The First pump I received from Amazon was damaged in shipping. Amazon was unable to help as the product became out of stock and I did not want to do a return. The Seller honoured the warranty and I received a replacement pump within a week. I replaced a 1HP Hayword pump housing that had a non-oem Marathon Motor that has operated for more than 8 years. The 1HP Marathon motor consumed 1600 Watts of power and provided 8PSI at the sand filter gauge during normal operation. The Aquastrong 2HP unit with Dual speeds in reference to the replaced 1HP Hayward has a smaller mounting base (about 6in wide) that mounts forward about 3/4 in and sits 1 and 1/8 inches lower than the unit it replaced. Those measurements may be useful for that specific replacement as the existing base mounts and any piping will have to be adjusted/modified to fit this pump. I opted to built up the base to make sure it was mounted well and lined up with existing piping. New Fitting were required to mate with the existing plumbing as the Hayward threading is different than the glue fitting supplied with this pump. As for operation, the Aquastrong 2HP dual speed unit at high speed as registered on my amp meter is using 1050 Watts and provides 8.5PSI at the sand filter gauge. On low speed the PSI does not register and the pump uses ~300 Watts of power. My Amp meter has issues registering low power consumption. Water flow at the low setting is sufficient to create debris circulation and collect leaves and such in the skimmer basket. Pressure is high enough for the Hayward CL200 In-line chlorinator to function. You cannot hear the pump operating 25 ft away on a quite morning. Water flow at high speed is slightly better and it runs more quietly than the aged 1HP pump it replaced. After 1 day of constant operation at low speed with short high speed runs to manually vacuum the pool, all is working well.

I installed this new pool pump yesterday and it exceeded my expectations. Very quiet, easy to install and was priced at a fraction of competitors. The quality looks to be exceptional.

I purchased the AQUASTRONG 2 HP In/Above Ground Dual Speed Pool Pump with high hopes, but alas, my experience has been nothing short of disappointment. Within a mere six months of purchase, this supposedly "powerful" and "self-priming" pump met its untimely demise, leaving me with a non-functional swimming pool and a wallet that felt considerably lighter.Imagine eagerly diving into crystal-clear waters on a sweltering summer day, only to find your pool resembling a stagnant pond due to a malfunctioning pump. That was my unfortunate reality. The AQUASTRONG pump's promise of 5186 GPH and dual-speed functionality seemed promising, but it fell woefully short of expectations. It struggled to maintain a consistent flow, and its so-called self-priming capabilities were nothing more than a marketing gimmick. Instead of enjoying the serenity of a sparkling pool, I found myself constantly troubleshooting and tinkering with this unreliable piece of equipment. To make matters worse, customer support was a labyrinthine nightmare, leaving me feeling stranded with a defective product. The AQUASTRONG 2 HP In/Above Ground Dual Speed Pool Pump is a lamentable investment. It not only failed to live up to its purported performance but also left me with a hefty repair bill and a sour taste in my mouth. Save yourself the frustration and seek a more dependable pool pump option for your pool.

Easy installation. Had to re-plumb the connections since previous pump was larger. Time will tell on the lifespan of the unit. Definitely quieter than previous pump.
