The VIISAN 4K Document Camera (VS13AI) is a great all around portable document camera for giving presentations and for teachers & learners. The physical design of the folding camera stand and its portability are its greatest strengths. The sturdy metal stand that feels premium and comes with its own carrying case that will easily fit in most laptop bags. And it folds in a way that the camera is protected, so I’d feel comfortable storing this in a backpack.It worked with my Windows PC without any drivers needed. The VisualCam software is another was to quickly give presentations with side-by-side video. I tried connecting it to my iPad Pro, but it didn’t recognize the device.The camera does a great job positioning itself for live demonstrations on paper. So if you’re writing things down for a lecture (for example, a math problem), this is the perfect portable camera. That being said, the camera quality isn’t as good as a proper document scanner, but for presentations this is perfectly adequate. The camera can be used as okay webcam.The microphone is awful. I tried several times to see if I was using it correctly, but even trying multiple positions or turning the AI on and off; it just sounded terrible. My laptop’s microphone was much better.

The camera looks and feels nice. However, I cannot get the software to work with my IPad Air. Tech support is not responding. Therefore, I am returning this item.

This is as versatile as I had hoped. Well, for the most part. The base is weighted, so it won't tilt over accidentally - this is both good and bad. Good if you don't want to travel with it. I'm a bit sorry I didn't get the other version that is lighter for travel.The image quality is decent. I like that the height is adjustable with a pretty good range, and I really like having control buttons on the device for getting the image orientation correct, and even manual brightness adjustment and a freeze frame button.The digital zoom is functional, but does get noisy at higher settings.Once disappointment is that it outputs either through USB or HDMI, not both at the same time. Not a huge deal, I mean I haven't even figured a use case for both at the same time. But I do like that there is the option of either.The built in light for the document camera is meh. It is adjustable in steps. But not color adjustable to match ambient white balance as far as I can tell. And like all "on camera" lights, it is prone to making glare on shiny surfaces.Overall, this is very useful.

I have no shortage of webcams to use in my offices (home & work) and on the road. So why do I carry this around in my laptop case? This is both better and more flexible than any of the other webcams I have.The webcam is 13MP. Sharper than my office webcams, the webcam in my laptop and even a tad better than in my fancy Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra (front facing camera.) and its auto focus settings work well. It has a built in light with 3 brightness settings. It's mounted on a multi joint arm which allows you to position the camera up and down and rotate it 180 degrees so you can face the camera up, down and side to side. Between the rotation and up down positioning you can make it face almost anywhere close and far. It has a macro lens that allows you to get as close as a little over 3 inches and far enough away to display an 11" x 17" document.The beauty of this webcam is that I can be in a meeting, reposition the webcam to show a document or a chart, then reposition the camera so everyone can see me again with little to no effort. It has a built in G-sensor to orient the image based on the motion. It's like magic. The webcam plugs into the USB port, like most do, and is instantly recognized by the system. I change the webcam setting to use this device for the webcam and the microphone. The microphone is sensitive but the ai noise reduction is not wonderful. I'm not surprised since most devices I know that have noise reduction use multiple mics (6 in my earbuds) to determine ambient noise while this has only one.I also like that this webcam folds up to a small compact rectangle and fits into a storage sack provided with the webcam. The whole thing fits neatly into my laptop bag and that makes it very portable.
