When I unboxed this Decor4Season box, I was very impressed with the craftsmanship. It is 100% grain wood and plywood, no particle board. There was a lot of thought that went into the selection of hardware. The front latch is a miniature reproduction of a classic Oriental hasp, but does not have accommodation for a tiny lock.The most outstanding feature with the hardware is the hinges. It has captured wire links, that slide in a guide to prevent the top from being opened too far, and damaging the box. The exterior of the box itself is lovely as well. It has decorative leather straps and tiny metal corner protectors, which add fun embeleshments to make it look vintage.This is a great storage box for tiny treasures, such as minature resin ducks, or jewelry. Children would love this as a pretend Pirate Treasure Chest for make-believe adventures. This small chest adds a good flavor of intrigue and antiquity to any room. People cannot help but be compelled to peek inside.
