I've purchased multiple viper tech products. They all work well and used them twice when being attacked by a dog! In both cases, the dog attack stopped with the discharge of the viper tech into the air, great product, lousy carrying case, very flimsy the belt loop! fell apart in one day on each of my vipertek carrying cases.

I got this for self-defense to replace the mini Vipertek which zaps like a toy, not even like a bee sting. This one is much stronger and louder with bigger bolt of electricity! A real visual and audible detterent! I havent tested this on myself, its that intimidating, but from others Ive seen videos am sure it would disable a attacker briefly if not longer to get away. The flashlight spotlight is good and adjustable, no more than 400 lumens? The cons are the device is a bit big and heavy and cant carry it in your pocket. It would probably break if dropped more than 3ft from concrete. The switch for turning on (for safety) is not a good idea, as this hinders the quicker reflex to unholster and zap right away as its a two-step procedure instead of one and sometimes you have to flick it down and up a few times for it to zap?! The holster is a joke, weak stictching as many have said and is too tight for quick action. All that being said, still worth the protection for me. Practice makes perfect.

This product is worth every cent. Multiple uses, all function perfectly. Just like any "weapon" if you don't familiarize yourself with its functionality, you won't understand its simplicity. Nice and loud. That means it will deliver. Hope I never have to use it.

I like that it can be used as a flashlight, so you will actually get some use out of this. Its nice to have for safety, but how often will you actually use it as a stun gun. The flashlight itself is pretty weak, but would meet your needs in the dark. There is an on off switch that needs to be turned on to use this. Then there is another switch to choose between a flash light and the stun gun. Its a nice safety, but could slow you down in an emergency situation. The stun gun makes quite a loud spark, this alone could go a long way to ward off an intruder without actually having to use it. There is definitely some high voltage produced. I have to admit that no one in my household was brave enough to actually test the stun level after seeking and hearing the spark, but it does claim it will work even through cloths and we are taking the manufacturers word for it. The construction is very sturdy and all metal. This could be used as a self defense weapon by itself without the stun feature. With the battery and the metal construction it is not light weight, about as heavy as you would expect for a flashlight with a large battery. This is a very affordable safely device.

I did like how the design looked. I felt it was a little longer than it probably needed to be. The case that was sent with it is very flimsy and fell apart after just a few uses. In addition, I feel that just a switch on the butt-end of the light is not a very good safety mechanism as this not only shuts off the taser, but it also shuts off the flashlight. I think that there needs to be a separate switch to turn just the flashlight on and another switch that controls both the taser and the flashlight. As far as working it does work as expected I haven't had the opportunity to test it on a live subject and hope I don't need to. This does have a focusing lense for the flashlight, which is OK, it is very bright and not as bright as a surefire light, but it is very bright and could blind an unsuspecting person just before you taze them. As this is considered a weapon, I do recommend that you pay attention to the laws in your state as each state is different on concealed carry laws.
