This handle increased my elderly parent’s confidence and independence when getting in and out of the car. He no longer is blindly looking for something to hold onto and pull himself up. He also provides stability and ease as he enters/exits the car.This handle is very sturdy and easy to use. I was concerned it would be hard to hook on and off, but my parents can use it without difficulty.

I drive a Mini Cooper, which can be quite a challenge for my elderly mother to get in and out of. I decided to give this handle a try to see if it would make things easier for her, and so far, it's been working like a charm! She still struggles a bit, mainly because she's a bit hesitant to trust that it will do its job without causing her to fall. But, I'm always there to give her a helping hand just in case. The handle feels super sturdy, is easy to use and fits perfectly in my glove box. It's been a great addition to our trips!I can't say for certain if it fits all vehicles, but I'll update my review later to let you know if it works well with a Chevy Tahoe. That's another vehicle that can be uncomfortable for seniors to get in and out of due to its height.

I purchased this to aid me getting in and out of my handicapped van. Fits into the door latch well and feels very solid when I put my weight on it. It provides a great assist when needed. And it fits well in the door pocket for storage. I like that it is not metal, as I would worry about marring something.

My daughter just had ACL surgery and needs to get to physical therapy twice a week. I drive a bigger truck and was struggling to get her in the seat to get her to her appointment. Someone suggested trying out one of these and after getting it I’m glad they did works great and very sturdy, it’s a big help having that extra support to help push herself up into the truck.The reason I gave it four out of five stars is it does wiggle a little which my daughter has gotten use to but the first couple of times she used it she was worried it was going to wiggle enough that she wasn’t going to get enough momentum to lift herself up.

This is a very sturdy handle! I was amazed by the hefty feel of it when I opened the box. It is far more useful than the overhead handles built into vehicles, especially when stepping down. You can really lean into this thing without worry it will break. Just make sure the latch loop opening on your vehicle door is at least 7/8†deep and 1†wide or it won’t fit, as they recommend you don’t use this item if it doesn’t fit correctly. If you keep it in the door pocket or on the seat it will always be there when you need it. Very impressive product!

My husband was having difficulty getting in and out of car after surgery. This was the extra help he needed. It is easy to throw in the car to have ready for him. It worked great on our van, but was too big for his Honda CRV. That is the only drawback I saw, at all. Very sturdy and does the job!

I purchased this Vive Car handle assist gadget after I saw one at the Occupational Therapy session at Holy Family Rehab hospital for my Mom. My 97 year old Mom fell and broke her hip a couple months ago and required emergency hip replacement surgery. At the hospital she was practicing how to get in and out of a car with her therapist. I am so pleased with this door handle assist tool and have since bought another for my sister's car so she can help my Mom too. Other people have seen it and asked where I bought this tool. It's super easy to use and does not scratch up my car door latch as it's made of heavy duty plastic. The plastic tooth part that goes inside the latch does get scratched a bit but my car remains safe and unscratched. The tool is heavy and has a good grip which makes it sit on the door latch sturdily. I just hook it on the latch after I have my car door open and tell my Mom to hold on to the tool when she gets in and out of my car. It has supported my Mom's weight (she's only 114 pounds) but I am sure it can handle a heavier person's hand and arm. She is more sturdy on her feet when she holds the door assist and getting in and out of the car is alot easier and safer without the risk of falling or slipping down the car seat. Thank you for making such a great tool and I feel alot less stressed when I have to take my Mom out.
