Just got it. Plugs in no problems. Requires C batteries, but launches while plugged in, so no batteries necessary. I've only used it indoors, and only for 1 day. I'll update if something changes. The balls are all the plastic version. No problems with some drool. My boardercolie mix doesn't drool excessively. My Mastiff is uninterested, but he's never been big on fetch.

For the money it’s not noisey, but the cord doesn’t connect well , any movement it shuts off , haven’t tried it with batteries yet as I might have to return due to the cord issue , not sure yet

My little ball chasing dog is exhausted. She’s been chasing little orange balls since this arrived in the mail this morning. She’s loving it. So am I.She hasn’t yet figured out how to load it herself. Apparently the idea makes her very nervous. However she’s delighted to run and chase the balls, and sometimes she even brings them back. She’s always loved ball chasing and this is perfect to wear off some of that energy and keep her in shape. The only issue with the machine I have is that the plug isn’t absolutely secure. It actually wouldn’t turn on when I first got it and it then came on after I wiggled the plug around. It was intermittent. Now it’s holding and perhaps it just needed to be moved around and pushed into place firmly to settle it. I hope it keeps working. It seems to be ok right now.The thrower comes with a bag of nice heavy but small balls that my girl really likes. They are a good size for a small dog. They are also bright orange so they are easy to spot in the house. They will hold up to a little chewing too.The machine is smooth so it will clean up well. It has a battery option if you want to take it outside, but I am using it inside right now so I can plug it in. The machine is safe. The rollers that throw the ball are inaccessible to the dog’s tender muzzle from either hole. The base has good gripping feet so on a smooth type floor the machine stays in place.I have two small dogs and my male Lhasa Apso took one look at this machine and decided no way. He gets up on the chair and won’t participate. He’s not a dog who loves chasing balls anyhow, so I’m not surprised. My little girl is super happy with this ball thrower. If your dog loves to chase a thrown ball they will enjoy this. Even better if they know to bring the ball back to you! It’s a great way to interact with your pup, and some dogs can learn to feed the thrower on their own. I suspect my dog is smart enough and in time she might try it on her own. She’s very curious about it and wanders over to check on the machine now and then. Yes. It’s a great dog toy and this one seems to be very good quality.

Ever dream of a world where your dog entertains themselves while you sit back with a cup of coffee? Well, dream no more. This automatic ball launcher has officially freed me from my full-time role as "human fetch machine"—and my dog has never been happier. What I Love:✅ Adjustable launch distances – My dog gets variety, and I get peace of mind knowing she won’t launch a ball straight into my face.✅ 8 latex balls included – Because we all know at least one ball will be lost under the couch within the first hour.✅ Encourages independent play – My dog now thinks she’s a genius. She drops the ball in, watches it shoot out, chases it down, and repeats… for eternity.✅ Shoulder-saving miracle – No more endless throwing until my arm turns into jelly. My dog is entertained, and I still have full use of my limbs. What to Know:🎾 Best for small to medium dogs. If you have a big dog with a baseball bat for a jaw, you may want a sturdier option.🔋 You’ll need power. It works great, but make sure you’ve got an outlet or a battery pack nearby.🕠Some dogs need training. Mine stared at it like it was witchcraft at first, but with treats and patience, she’s now living her best fetch life.Would I buy it again? Without hesitation. Would I now use my extra time to read a book while my dog plays fetch solo? Oh, absolutely.

Having a Boston Terrier puppy is not for the lazy, he’s full of energy and always ready to play. He loves fetch, so I grabbed this to hopefully save some of my energy while burning off some of his. This launcher can be powered by either a cord or 8 C batteries. The balls are on the smaller side, fitting perfectly in a Boston Terrier’s mouth. We’ve only tried the ‘Near’ setting so far (it also has Medium, Far, and Random), but even the Near setting launches the ball pretty far.I was a bit worried about the balls hitting him, so I tested one against my arm, it didn’t hurt. One did catch him in the chest, and he didn’t seem to care at all. We spent about ten minutes rotating two balls through the launcher, and he really enjoyed it. I also like that I can aim the balls consistently in one direction (so they don’t end up under the couch), and it’s much more accurate than me trying to throw them, especially with him jumping on my arm before I can even launch.I’m very happy I ordered this launcher, and Dover the Boston Terrier gives it an enthusiastic five barks! I’m glad to have another playtime option that helps me save some energy while keeping up with his endless puppy zoomies.
