These heat mats work very well for starting seedlings that require bottom heat, like tomatoes, peppers, zucchini, etc. I have grown many successful stands of seedlings using these mats since they accelerate germination and promote growth. I also like that they provide even heat distribution across the whole mat, unlike other heat mats which have hot spots because they use heated wires. I highly recommend this heat mat to any gardener who wants success in starting seedlings indoors. 🌱

I use this for my vivosun 3x3×5 during winter and colder months. Hasn't failed me once and keeps a consistent temp without the need for the controller. Although, I would have loved to be able to adjust the temp I didn't need to buy the one that came with it. It's a very well made mat and does what it's supposed to. You could also use these for your pets beds during winter months or if you have an outdoor shelter for animals, this works well too. It's easy to store and doesn't take up any noticeable space when in use. Highly recommend any product from vivosun. Can't wait till I can grab me a new light from them.

Winter time in the northeast requires a little help in germination and seedlings. This mat fills that void nicely. Without controller, pad gets up to 84 degrees. good heat dispersion, heat gun read no hot spots. In solo cup water germination, its 80 degrees. The seedlings in cup/dirt are 79 ish at bottom of cup, to 70 ish at top of cup. I keep them in small tent off floor. Keep your little guys warm and they thank you in the end. Great price, great product. Listing indicates waterproof, but warning on pad says do not immerse in water.

After ordering and returning a couple of different brands of these I have found that these have changed in the last few years. Many brands are now using PVC polyvinylchloride as the outer covering. The problem is these will off-gas and smell. I think I'll stick to the non-poisons on this product. This product has a much better cover and works excellent.

This heating mat appears to be better quality than others I've purchased. I do grape vine cutting propagations in January/February using the heating mat to provide 70 to75 degree F to root zone while the vine cuttings above stay dormant. I hope to get root growth started before the cambium stored energy is used for the bud growth. The root zone is maintaining a 70 F degree range while ambient temperature is below freezing. The heating mat internal thermostat consistently has kept proper temperature. Easy to use, adequate electrical cord length, durable and trustworthy. I may also use these mats for early germination of plant trays. Rated high by other users too.

This pad works great. Just enough heat to keep your soil warm. Depending on what you’re planting some seeds need warmer temperatures than others to germinate.

I decided to jump into gardening this year and wanted a heat mat to help my seeds germinate during the cold Canadian spring. For less than 20 dollars, this is probably the best bang for your buck, especially if you're like me and spend all money on new seeds for the season. I'm able to fit a 72 cell tray perfectly on this mat, and along with a grow light, it's the perfect setup for growing seedlings. The heating is consistent throughout, and thankfully the power cord is pretty long so I have no trouble getting it to an outlet. I have noticed that my seeds are germinating way quicker than the actual projected germination time found on the seed packets. I might just have to buy another one of these to fit all the seeds that I've bought!
