Your cart is empty.This is a replacement bit for the highly accurate, self-centering hinge drilling 5/64" Vix bit that is used for precise drilling of holes for cabinet and door hinges, door butts and all large and small hardware. Works with #3 and #4 screws. Desired depth is achieved by loosening a setscrew, setting the high speed drill bit, and then tightening the setscrew.

What's to say - it's a drill bit. It was the proper diameter and was the correct length to install in my Vix bit.

Item was exactly what was advertised. It was a true replacement bit for the Vix Bit #3. It helped us get a better job done as the Vix Bit #5 was too large for the screws we were using on that particular job. These are hard to find and cost quite a bit more locally. We will be placing an order for each size replacement bit we have so as to prevent down time in the future.

If you're looking for a replacement bit for the "Snappy Self Centering Bit", this won't work. This bit is only 2 1/2" long. The product description should mention this but it doesn't.

If you break your Vix bit "drill" then you must buy this product as commercially available 5/64 bits are too short. Perhaps that is why there are other makers of this product. Living at the "end of the road" without a specialty woodworkers store it's important to be able to find this product.
