The Viper HD 3000 laser rangefinder with 7x magnification and a 25mm objective lens, gives you the tools to act quickly and confidently. A 3,000-yard max range (2,000 on game) lets you pinpoint big game faster at distance.
The HD optical system uses select glass elements to deliver exceptional resolution that cuts chromatic aberration and provides outstanding color fidelity. XR Plus lens coatings provide maximum light transmission for peak clarity and low light performance.
The red OLED display stays clear in low light. To give you the flexibility to range any shot on any hunt, the Viper HD 3000 has four target modes (Normal, First, Last and ELR), two ranging modes (HCD and LOS), and is tripod adaptable.
Built to handle tough situations, the rangefinder uses ArmorTek coatings to protect the lenses. Rubber armor provides a secure, non-slip grip and durable external protection. Waterproof and shockproof, the Viper 3000 will hold up on your next hunt.

Viper HD 3000 Laser Rangefinder (LRF-VP3000)

Open country or in tall timber, precision and speed mean the difference between filling your freezer and tag soup. The Viper HD 3000 laser rangefinder gives you the tools to act quickly and confidently, with a 3,000-yard max range and a stunning HD optical system that lets you pinpoint big game faster at distance. Four target modes and two ranging modes mean you get the flexibility to range any shot on any hunt, making the Viper HD 3000 perfect for the tree stand and the mountains.

Normal Mode

Your Viper HD 3000 comes preset to Normal Mode. This is the standard mode providing the targets range with the strongest range result. Normal Mode is the recommended target mode for most situations.

First Mode

This mode displays the closest distance when ranging. This mode is ideal for ranging a smaller target in front of other larger or more reflective objects.

Note: If unsure about the range, simply release the measure button and range again.

Last Mode

This mode displays the farthest distance when ranging. This mode is ideal for ranging a specific target behind a group of objects like brush, trees, rocks, etc.

Extended Laser Range Mode

The ELR Mode target mode allows for ranging smaller, less reflective targets at extended distances. It is ideal for ranging when Normal Mode is unable to obtain a desired range. A longer response time may be required to build the desired range. For best results, use a tripod.

Power Up

Once the battery is installed, the Viper HD 3000 is in ready condition – the normal poweroff condition when not ranging. To power up the Viper HD 3000 from ready condition and prepare for ranging, press and release the “Measure” button. The HCD or LOS ranging screen will display. The auto-shutoff feature can be adjusted to 15, 30, or 60 seconds.

Adjust Eyecup & Focus

The eyecup on the Viper HD 3000 twists in and out so any viewer can see the full field and enjoy comfortable viewing and ranging – with or without eyeglasses. When not using eyeglasses or sunglasses, it is recommended to keep the eyecup fully extended. For best viewing when wearing eyeglasses, twist eyecup in.

Adjust the diopter until the image is sharp. Make note of this diopter setting in case you need to set it again.

Change Modes

Press and release the “Measure” button to power the unit On. To change modes, press and hold the “Menu” button until the Mode Selection screen appears (about 2 seconds).

Scroll through the mode options by clicking the “Menu” button. To adjust a mode, click the “Measure” button.

To save your settings and exit the Mode Selection screen, press and hold the “Menu” button for at least two seconds.

Tripod Use For Ranging

Using a tripod to steady the rangefinder will increase your ability to range small targets at longer distances. If the Viper HD 3000 is used on a tripod, the reticle may appear tilted depending on tripod level.

This is probably the best range finder Iâ€™ve ever used! It is super clear the digital optics are bright and easy to read. I ranged a tree line out to 2,400 yards and I got it to range the side of a barn at 2,850 yards thatâ€™s the furthest Iâ€™ve been able to see while Iâ€™ve had them I think they will reach past their 3,000 mark under the right circumstances.

Great quality rangefinder, much like my other Vortex optics. Range is accurate and it is easy to set up and use. Light weight but sturdy construction. Great value for a mid range rangefinder.

My older rangefinder would not come close to reliably working at the advertised range and I needed one that would. I tested this one out past 2000 yards with no problems, plus I love the lifetime guarantee vs 1 year on most other brands. You really need reliable ranging at distance if you seriously stalk or hunt long range and the larger magnification helps.

Great for target sports and hunting. Works for golf, but doesn't have the switch to turn off incline, so if you're playing by USGA rules, this doesn't comply. The features and distance rating on this is the sweet spot unless you never shoot beyond 200yd or frequently shoot beyond 1600.

So far, I love it. The lens is clear, the instructions for use are simple. I will update after I verify this product on range day. Our targets are marked with distanced measured by a measuring line, so we'll see how it compares.I'm hopeful, as all of my lenses are from Vortex.

Not enough magnification for over 1500 yards unless you are shooting a barn or something huge. But it is deadly accurate when you can find your target. Donâ€™t expect to range a deer in a bare pasture you will never hit the deer with the laser.
