Smoker started to trip GFCI outlet and I was like 99% sure it was heating element. Takes about 15min to replace and smoker works again like new.

Worked perfect in my cabellas smoker had no issues just finshed smoking some wild boar and st Louis style ribs and still have not had no issues since i installed this element! Better than spending the money to replace smoker!highly recommend

Smoker kept popping a GFCI outlet. Tried the cords, outlets and everything to make sure nothing electrical was wrong and still popping. Quick google search said the heating element so ordered it. Came in nicely wrapped in bubble wrap ( twice ), and in huge zip lock baggies.Took about 15'ish minutes to put it in. 3 bolts on the heating element, and about 5 more in total.Not hard and working beautifully so far.Pork shoulder on the smoker now, and about 9 hours in - so 5 stars from me!Would buy again if needed.

I used this to replace the original element in my Masterbuilt 30 in smoker. It had become unusable, tripping either GFCI or the breaker within minutes of starting the heating cycle. Install was fairly straight forward, though it was tough to connect the ground wire. This really isn't any fault of the replacement part, rather the design of the original unit such that it requires holding a small nut behind a metal plate with about 2 inches of clearance between it and the back of the inside of the smoker and then try to start a small screw into that nut.The instructions could be more helpful, a lot of "do the reverse of step X" and illustrations kind of vague, but if you're willing to try a project like this, you're probably mechanically inclined and will be able to figure it out. There were 2 small nuts in the hardware pack that I never did figure out a purpose for, but since everything works, I guess they weren't essential. Also note that one step requires assistance, so if you live alone, plan on inviting a friend over. One person has to hold the unit in place inside the smoker cabinet while another starts 2 screws into threads on the plate from the outside back of the cabinet.I don't know why they included temperature control as an item to rate, this is just the element that heats, the control is provided by the digital control unit (my old one was still OK), but I will say that, as the instructions asked, I turned the unit on before reinstalling the wood tray and cover. I set to 200 and the temp rose from 86 to that in under 10 minutes and continued to read something like 203-206 for 20 more before I shut it down to finish reassembly.Overall, a good value to salvage my investment in the smoker and the external wood chip hopper that I have come to rely on for brisket and Boston Butt cooking!

This worked well with my Masterbuilt Sportsman Elite. This is a new design from the original, but I like it because it puts more of the heating element under the wood chips with the zig zag shape. It heated up the smoker well and kept it hot without a problem in freezing temperatures. The install was easy. I didn’t even have to change out the mount for the element. The old one fit well.The one thing that I don’t like is that it doesn’t have temperature marks on the thermostat. I can understand why because this can be used for various sized boxes, but even if the temperature was wrong, it would be easier to find the close mark. Even with this one drawback, I think it was a good purchase.

The replacement element was a perfect fit solution. My Masterbuilt smoker was tripping the breaker after a 10-20 seconds into the heating setting. I took the (2) wires off of the element and tried it again and the breaker didn’t trip. Therefore the only piece not in the circuit was the element. Replacement was easy and unit once again is working flawlessly.
